This hotel is in a fabulous location walking distance to everything Freo has to offer. The hotel is really lovely and the room was really spacious, clean and comfortable. We spent the weekend exploring many of the new small bars that have popped up and it was really fun.
Mid week getaway
Loved the location, plenty to see and do right on the hotels doorstep and the ease of getting around Fremantle from the hotel. Great value for money and wonderful staff. Room was always lovely and clean. Can’t fault. Would stay again
Relaxing Room; disappointing petit dejeuner
Good value, on the whole, for a spacious, clean , quiet and superbly comfortable room. Really, the room was great, so I’m being pernickety when I have a moan about the breakfast. I should explain that ,well over a decade ago, a big treat was to have a weekend at Rydges in the middle of Perth. The hotel was new , luxurious and the breakfast was the best in the city. So, expecting the same breakfast standard, we requested bed-and-breakfast when we made a booking for the Esplanade. This was a mistake. The general standards of Rydges breakfast have deteriorated. My companion said his cooked breakfast was okay. My croissant was very sad, as was my tinned fruit. In my companion’s fresh fruit , only the rock melon was tasty. The range of fresh juice was limited. I’d stay here again, but not eat here. And, while I’m in whingeing mode - check-in. Check in was efficient , but efficiency overcame welcome. There was no sense of welcome. If you are greeting guests an attempt should be made to make them feel welcome. You don’t always know why guests are there or what kind of journey they have had. My impression was that business was more important. But the room was grand.
Room 586 - king spa suit
The staff were amazing. William on front desk was professional and prompt from pre arrival to checkout and everyone working there was fantastic. The lass at the front helping with parking was so sweet. I can’t fault the staff. However for the price of over half a thousand dollars the room we got (king spa suit room 586) are poorly Decorated and outdated, walls and carpets are dull and there’s no Netflix option. I’ve stayed in hotels over Perth with a various price range and for what we payed for one night was pretty poor. Along with the view of bricks. The hotel itself is a prime location but for constructive criticism, if you’re going to charge close to $600 per night your guests deserve a lot better than what’s offered in your ‘elite’ rooms. Other than being very underwhelmed when checking into our expensive romantic room, we were happy with staff. Kind regards, Natasha.
We had a 2 night get away , no complaints, however feel that the hotel has become a little outdated. We stayed in a king spa suite which was lovely and spacious , the in room entertainment was really non existent with only free to air TV on offer. Free Wi-fi is a plus but would be great to have netflix available or other streaming platforms. The tea/coffee facilities in the room are very average, the addition of a coffee pod machine would greatly improve guest comfort
