Room was nice and clean of good size, with a nice balcony (sadly not much of a view) and two person spa, perfect for a two night stay. We didn’t eat in the hotel, so can’t comment on the restaurant etc service, but certainly any of the staff we had contact with were all very polite and helpful. The only blob on our stay was the aircon service guy who could’ve done the filter change when the room was empty, rather than drag the wife out of the spa (twice)…
Lovely spacious and impeccably clean room and bathroom. Well stocked. Hotel has good facilities and staff are efficient and friendly. Car parking while not on site is close and easy. We had no problems but staff had been open with the fact that there were some teething problems with a new system. Lovely balcony to our room and great to have the tree for screening and shade, however the tree needed trimming back and we couldn’t sit out there as it obstructed the entire balcony. Would definitely stay again.
Well it was great for us !
We had 3 rooms for 5 of us. We were there from Friday until Sunday. It was very busy on the Saturday as there were 3 functions on. Great location for all the main sites and restaurants. Car park is adjacent and not too difficult to get to. Breakfast was superb. Buffet style with plenty of choice. Replenished regularly. Gluten free toast whilst not advertised was available and came to the table quickly. The bar staff were personable and we had some good fun with them. The share plate was OK - great chorizo and olives but other bits could be improved. Rooms are a little tired (173) in the bathroom but was airy and convenient. And very clean. Star of the staff was Kylie - the concierge - she was friendly, amazingly helpful, amusing and cared about customers. On Saturday she dealt with the rush of cars with incredible calm! She helped our disadvantaged guest by fetching her case from the room. Reception staff were professional and helpful. The hotel is an icon in Fremantle and I had always wanted to stay. We loved the ambiance and it suited our style so we will be back. Disappointed to see such negative comments on earlier reviews. The hotel doesn’t deserve those.
Great location, shame about the rooms.
Fantastic location in Freo, close to everything! BUT...the room was very run down. Marks all over walls and doors, dodgy repair jobs in the bathroom, ripped armchair and bed base. It really needs a big refurbishment!
If I could give this place 0 stars I would
Apparently if you ask to be in a room near the function you’re attending that translates to I want to be put in the furthest room possible and walk for miles to get there and back. Staff were snappy and this chronically ill chick had to go fetch her own plates and cutlery otherwise a charge would incur. Oh and there was no porter service I was just pointed to the lift on the opposite side of the hotel. The option was to cart my luggage down the steps n go thru the restaurant or walk further around the perimeter of the bar. Whatever happened to just being helpful in the “hospitality” industry. It’s definitely changed from the days when I worked in some of the most prestigious hotels in Perth. We would look after our guests because they were paying to stay there not Cos they were paying us to fetch plates. Someone must have missed the memo Cos two knives were left on the floor after the room next to me had been cleaned. Also this is what is classified as a balcony in their eyes. Looks more like a pig pen to me. But at least no wildlife entered in the night. So if you like being treated badly and put in a subpar room that had hair in the bath choose this pearler. Will never stay here again.
