The Crown experience has improved significantly since our previous visit. Parking was a breeze and complementary. Room was perfect, not too much or to little. Staff were outstanding, from the concierge team, reception team and house keeping. Big disappointment was the fact you must ring Melbourne for pre arrival advice and even when in the hotel. To request your bags to be collected you enjoy a long wait to be connected to the Melbourne call center who then rings the hotel - crazy??
Promenade not quite Perfect!!
We stayed at the Promenade for 2 nights very recently. Not enough staff when we checked in so there was a wait. One bottle of water for the whole suite for the whole stay. I would think one bottle of water per guest is not unreasonable to expect. At $329 per night (mid week) breakfast should be included in that price. We have travelled extensively throughout the world and breakfast is virtually included everywhere. An additional $50 per day for 2 breakfasts is ridiculous. Our Spa Suite was lovely, a few more coat hangers would not have gone astray. Overall, we had a very nice time.
The hotel instantly seems like a downgrade as it sits next to it’s more elaborate Metropol & Towers Hotels. Parking is free in the multi level carpark ~ however it is a mighty long walk from there to reception. They need a monorail. Guest services were friendly upon reception. Check in was easy. Cleaning stations are around to ease your Covid concerns. Room was sufficient but nothing really to boast about. I was given a room that had views of what seemed to be a staff carpark ~ not pleasant. Bathroom hand towel holder is placed very low. Grime evident around shower/tub hand rail etc. The bed was not made to standard as once I payed inside all you could feel was the fitted sheet all lumpy and creased ~ I felt like just the quilt was changed from the last guest...... hmmm. Pool situation is disappointing to say the least. Faces a road, quite small no heating & there is like a temporary mini mini bar situated next to the pool nothing to get excited about. It is not really that enticing when you compare what’s next door at the the other 2 hotels. The Crown complex in general though is amazing, and to be part of that, is the upside. Would I stay here again?..... for a quick stop perhaps but not for a full relax, I’d be checking out the other 2 hotels next door 😊
Excellent all round place to stay. Very nice room, staff very helpful with any queries A lovely area to walk around on the many walkways, including an easy walk into the city. Fantastic restaurant's. Enjoyed going to a show, plus Casino for some extra fun.
Room small but very nice with lovely, immaculate ensuite. I think newly renovated. My husband and I were staying 2 nights but checked out a day early. We wanted a relaxing day by the pool but could only see 2 lounge seats, people were sitting on the half wall and on the ground and the pool is very small. One, if not the, worst hotel pools we have ever saw and wished we had paid extra to stay at the Metropol. The pool looks nothing like the photos.
