Great hotel and facilities
Loved our stay, love to go back - great rooms, pool, gym and all other facilities, but disappointed by the lack of vegan options in restaurants, which is a pity and is out of keeping with current dining trends.
Expectation Versus Reality
Our expectation was one of service and relaxation the reality was poor in both aspects-The pool had too many people and no where to sit as people went down very early and put things on lounges. It took two hours for our lunch to arrive after ordering and it was cold as the waiter forgot who ordered what after such a long period of time had passed. Breakfast in the lobby was terrible as we got asked 9 times if something was ours which wasnt so they didnt know who ordered what. The room was too hot and little sleep was had. The lobby always had dirty plates and mess on the tables so you didnt want to sit there anyway. There was nowhere to relax at all under staffed bad service would not go here again. Checked out early as we were totally fed up after a few days
Christmas Holidays Stay
My partner and I had a lovely stay had at the Crown Metropol, pool was magnificent, service great. We had friends come and visit for dinners both nights we stayed there. Merrywell had a great vibe about it. We will be back again for sure. Thanks again Crown :)
Crown is always our preferred hotel when staying in Perth however on this occasion we were continually disappointed but the service and quality of our stay even though it was only one night on this occasion. Firstly we arrived 30 minutes after the check in opened and still had to wait 35 minutes to check in. No apology or acknowledgement of the long wait or assistance to anyone who had young children. The receptionist even tried to charge the room booking twice and I had to show her my tax invoice that it had already been paid. We went to the pool after checking in and ordered food and was disappointed that the pizza was not fresh and they use frozen pizza bases. Not the quality you would expect from this type of hotel. If you are unable to find a sunlounge there is no other option to put your belongings. The next morning we ordered coffees from the lobby and we weren't even met with a friendly smile. In fact it was like we were a hindrance. We had another swim in the pool before check out and were disappointed that the slide did not open at 9am as stated and the lifeguard arrived around 9:15, which was interesting considering it shut at exactly 5pm the day before. Upon check out we processed quickly but were not asked if we enjoyed our stay. When I pulled up to load our bags I to the car the concierge just watched on and did t check my luggage ticket or try to assist. Not sure why all the staff seem unhappy but I think we will stay elsewhere from now on.
Staycation at Crown
We had a 3 day stay, which was nice but we had to ask for bathroom to be mopped, toilet paper wasn't restocked. Impossible to get a chair in pool area, most people it seems would put a towel on a chair and leave for breakfast, etc as early in the morning there were next to no people swimming yet all chairs were covered with towels. Found empty pill box behind couch.
