Absolutely stunning surrounds. View and rooms are very nice, walks around the lake are worth the journey! Swimming is amazing.. lots of kids but still have room to swim around. Upsetting that the activities listed weren’t up to what they said was available.. No bikes (were told only had 2 adult bikes for the whole resort and one was out of action) No pedal boats, mini golf is sub par... but is what you expect for $5ea BBQs are great but need a scraper on a chain to clean.. we walked passed in the morning (early) and went back to use about 6pm and still haven’t been cleaned, lucky we had bake paper/foil to cook on, do think the staff should check this daily! Also with what you pay for the rooms the Activities should be included, easy to give out a wrist band so you know who is who! Also had a lake view room and someone set of a DRONE from one of the rooms.. (see pic attached) where is the privacy and in that buzzing passed out room.. I know it’s not the resorts fault but maybe be part of the room hire conditions!
For my family (6 in total) we took my dad away for his birthday and the resort was amazing we had a comfortable 7 sleeper room, fridge, stove top, microwave, toaster and kettle. We enjoyed hanging out in the cabin, admiring the view just as much as mini golf, the hiking trail and just swimming in the lake. We enjoyed the BBQ facilities as much as the restaurant. Staff were so friendly and gave us plenty of tips for seeing wildlife and weather recommendations. Our only fault was the weekend we choose was extremely hot (40-41) and our cabin had no air-con however we had fans.
Fantastic Christmas camping with the family (dog included)
We stayed at the brand new camping side of the resort. 360 degree views of trees with beautiful sunrises and sunsets. We had great neighbours all around who also enjoyed a relaxing time with the sounds of birds and wind in the trees. A walking track for the pooch, playground and games room for the kids and a campers kitchen like I've never seen (amazing). There is so much to do in the region with or without a dog which we loved. Do your research before you stay somewhere because some people who didn't bother to find out about rules regarding National Parks have unfairly complained about not being able to take the dog everywhere, and now pet friendly sites have been stopped. Thanks a lot to the whingers!
Save your money
We booked for 3 nights in a self contained chalet for a cost of $1158. Upon arrival we were blown away at the beauty of the Forrest and lake. Found our chalet and entered. This is where it all starts to go wrong. We checked in on a 35 degree day. Only 1 ceiling fan and small pedestal fans in the bedroom. Then we look at the info sheet and you have to pay to use the 30 year old canoes on the lake etc. this costs $25 per 24 hours for a family of 4. Plus you have to buy a fishing license per person at $10. I don’t mind paying but when your already spending $386 per night for a clapped out log cabin in a so called resort with no air con what exactly am I paying for. Not resort guests only pay an additional $5 to use all the lake amenities. Very poor condition as most the fly screens were broken so it allowed a lot of bugs into the rooms which made it annoying to sleep at night. Beds were hideously uncomfortable and the TVs were a joke. Tried to watch a movie but it was shocking. Checked out with 1 night to go that’s how much we wanted to get out of there. Restaurant service was great but on the expensive side. Definitely wouldn’t go back again such a shame as the location and views are exceptional.
Karri Valley caravan Park (RAC Resort)
I shall just let people form their own opinion of Karri Valley RESORT Camping Ground. We booked for two nights on a powered site in the pet friendly area but only ended up staying one. We had our dog and were told on arrival that we could not take him over the main Highway to the resort area where the lake and restaurant are. We were only allowed with him in the caravan park where there was no shade or grass on the sites. The ablutions, although limited and the camp kitchen were very nice. For $83 / night I think it is probably a tad expensive . Prior to this we stayed at some beautiful caravan parks with lots of lovely shady trees and grassed areas for half this cost
