Flies were ridiculously bad. So much so, everyone was buying and wearing nets. Reception were exceptionally unhelpful. Pool needs to be cleaned. Food is overpriced. Noise from neighbouring rooms is annoying. Breakfast is good though. Really good access to the beach. Location is good. Overpriced for what it is.
High standard of resort accomodation for WA standards
This is as near to a world class resort as WA gets. Relatively expensive - but it justifies the price. We've stayed here several times, and the the villas have always been lovely, quiet, clean and well maintained. The restaurant is very good and breakfast is great, although hampered by Covid in our Dec 20 visit. The staff are very professional and do a good job. The pool is beautiful (although it has no shade which would be good for kids).
Average accommodation - not worth the money
We stayed at Pullman bunker bay resort for three nights in a two bedroom villa as a family of four. Unfortunately our stay was not as enjoyable as it has been in the past. When we arrived we had to wait a full hour for our room so we could only check in at 4pm and there was no complimentary drinks or apology. When we got to the room the fridge wasn’t cold, the freezer didn’t work, and the room looked dated. We tried to get staff to have a look at the fridge but they never came. Overall the staff were spread very thin and quite inexperienced. We went to the restaurant Other Side of the Moon and the food was okay but very overpriced with small portions and again minimal staff. We had to attend a funeral in Perth on the second last day of our trip and enquired about staying an extra night - the staff were not sympathetic or helpful and simply passed the request to the booking dept who didn’t get back to me...... For a so called five star resort it did not measure up to our expectations at all and we will not be returning any time soon. For our last night we ended up staying at Smiths Beach Resort who were very accommodating and even gave us an upgrade......
Goods and bads about our stay
We enjoyed facilities in the resort. The pool was great with beautiful view of ocean. Rooms were very clean and staff were friendly and nice. We also enjoyed the breakfasts very much. However, we didn’t have good sleep over nights because of a very terrible noisy naighbour which was not well managed by hotel personnel unfortunately despite notifying them several times. The management was nice enough to extend our check out time a few hours so that we could sleep and recover abit. He also mentioned he would ask cleaners not to attend for cleaning sobthat they dont disturb us during sleep. But the cleaner was there ontime which means there was a miscommunication or lack of communication there. So we think that this is a great place to stay and relax but mamagement needs to establish more restrict policies for noise managment and consider better communication among team members.
A 5 star resort with 2-3 star quality of service
Used to be great, so we booked a weekend getaway in a king bed Villa Pool- Dirty dishes everywhere which wasn’t collected till much later. Restaurant- we were told that since covid, they have adapted and expanded villa catering as they are at full capacity most of the time, and to cope we demand. I was trying from 8.30 to call and order, finally got through 10-15 minutes later and the chef/ catering staff advised it would be 1.15 hr before the food comes, didn’t arrive till 10:30. Do they need to increase their staffing as they are indeed full house during this border restrictions? Bed- well the king bed turned out to be two bed pushed together with dip in the middle! Next Morning around 10.00 am before going out we advised the reception who stated they would address it. We came back around 5 to find the bed in the same state and dishes from last night still not picked up! Another call, after which an staff came to state that the previous staff had not joined the beds properly! Then we were told what was on it was a mattress protector not a topper 🤷🏻♀️. .... If it say king bed, it should be king bed! Breakfast- the quality of a three star motel/hotel with piles of scrambled egg, sausages and lukewarm bacons, cool egg Florentine and potatoes, tomatoes and mushrooms. The little side plates of “antipasto “ had smidgen of goat cheese and cheddar with few slices of salami! People wanting to have cheese on toast to avoid the horrible buffet, would have taken the little pieces of cheeses from some plates. The staff don’t volunteer the information that you can actually order poached or fried eggs. So if it is not part of deal, and you can eat out , do it! Staff: friendly, seem under staffed for a resort which is running on 100% occupancy,
