Stayed here for a few days in Early December 2020. Weather was nice, not too hot considering the time of year. I was amazed how close this place is to many of the local wineries. Cape Lodge also produce a limited amount of their own fine wines, bye a bottle or two if you can. The lodge is very nicely laid out with a quiet ambiance and parking is close to rooms. The reception and staff were friendly yet unimposing and nearby if you needed something. My room was an upstairs deluxe garden view room. Nicely arranged with high ceilings and large bathroom. The French doors open onto a balcony with small table and 2 chairs which provided a pleasant outlook to the gardens. There was tea/coffee facilities, a stocked bar fridge and a selection if nibbles included in the room price. Breakfast and dinner were served at the adjacent Cape Lodge restaurant. The food and wine pairing was superb and the service exceptional. I will be staying here again when the opportunity permits, a bit longer next time though.
Best dinner in Margaret river region!!
Each dish was exquisitely constructed into art rather than food, genuine care and great skill taken in preparing each element. The staff were wonderful and so knowledgeable on the wines and paired them perfectly to our dishes. We had a beautiful evening overlooking the water and were completely satisfied at the end of our night. We recommend the five course tasting menu!
The lake view suites or rooms are not as shown .Bathroom is nice however the room is very dark and old furniture .There was nothing on balcony .We had to ask for chairs to be brought up.Not 5 star .No help with luggage and they leave the doors open when cleaning .Our room was full of bugs and flies .The rest of stay and inclusions and restaurant is nice .I think the pics they show you with nice modern light furniture is of the garden suites or maybe some simply havent been re vamped.Do not pay the full price but get a deal and is ok .
Lovely relaxing stay. Gorgeous hotel.
Beautiful peaceful location between Margaret River and Yallingup. Many good wineries around. Rooms very spacious and nicely furnished. Superb food and friendly staff. Choice of breakfast and enjoyed 5 course degustation dinner with wine pairing. Could not fault it !
Great Cooking Class followed by superb Lunch. A wonderful way to celebrate our annual pilgrimage to Margaret River.
Each year we celebrate Xmas in July with a visit to Margaret River region with 11 of our friends. We have been doing this for 10 years running. However, given a certain global virus, we had to defer our 2020 trip until September. As part of our annual pilgrimage I organise a Surprise Friday Lunch. This year we ventured to Cape Lodge for a pre lunch Cooking Class hosted by the exceptional Tony Howell with support by his equally exceptional kitchen staff like Rosie. The class was followed by an equally exceptional Lunch coordinated by the outstanding Front of House Manager Neil Reveler. Our lunch long table looked out over the expansive , beautiful dam/lake and surrounding well established gardens ., From the day my wife and I walked into Cape Lodge in March 2020 to start planning the surprise September luncheon, the coordination and support from Neil was a revelation. On the day , the cooking class was such great fun and was highlighted by the wonderful bon vivant Tony, who is engaging, funny and caring. We arrived at 11.15 and the classes and superb 4 course lunch concluded at 4 pm. The whole day was faultless. Many thanks to Neil, Tony and their team for making our Xmas in September so memorable. The Surprise Luncheon was the best we have experienced over the last 10 years - it will be certainly hard to top in future years. Many thanks again to Cape Lodge and its superb staff for a truly fantastic , fun day
