Our accommodation was excellent with beautiful views across the lake and a lovely balcony. The restaurant is delightful and we could not fault the food, nor the service. The hotel is set in beautifully manicured grounds and located in a perfect spot for access to local amenities, wineries, and Cape Naturaliste.
Very unappealing accomodation, albeit the most expensive.Definitely needs upgrade, Shower overflowed investigated the trap to find hair was lodged in it. Not ours by the way. Carpet scuffed. Also no fly screens on the door to balcony. Food not up to our expectations
We had 2 nights on the windiest of weekends so didn’t venture around the grounds much but the location is serene and the restaurant is a stunning spot, we couldn’t fault the food. The staff were lovely. The room was pleasant and the fridge had drinks included, but I have to say it certainly wasn’t as clean as I would have hoped. I have stayed in more hotels worldwide than I can remember and found that this was overpriced unfortunately. Nevertheless we enjoyed our stay.
I was really looking forward to staying here but the reception and lack of welcome left us cold. Little or no information or advice about pre dinner drinks and the wine tour and whether they were included or not. Rachel gave a wonderful vineyard tour which we would have missed but another guest mentioned it. We had no idea where or when the pre dinner drinks were. Again another guest filled us in. Dinner was very pleasant except one night they completely forgot about us and we had to keep asking where our meal was . The accomodation and bathrooms are large but getting very old, especially for what they are charging.
My husband and I stayed at Cape Lodge for 1 night on a dinner, bed and breakfast package. The resort is lovely, situated within the grounds of a working vineyard with most rooms overlooking a picturesque lake and gardens. We had a king bed room with an ensuite bathroom which had a large bath and separate walk-in shower. Overall the room was comfortable and reasonably large. The room's fridge was stocked with complementary beer, soft drinks and sparking mineral water as well as tea and coffee. A nice little touch was the jar of lollies. The included dinner was a 3 course affair which had local marron and osso bucco on the menu and which was very delicious. The breakfast was a la carte with a small buffet as well. Included in our stay was a vineyard tour and wine tasting - which was a nice surprise and very enjoyable as well as pre-dinner drinks at the restaurant's bar . All in all a great getaway which I fully recommend - although rather pricey - it's worth it for a special occasion.
