Top spot to visit.
A very nice eco resort with great facilities and the most efficient and friendly staff. This place is spot on for a resort in a world heritage area. Right on the ocean and in an area that is special and unique. The Boughshed resturant is fantastic Nd very reasonably priced. The seafood platter was the best I have ever had and again reasonably priced. A must visit for sure.
Garden view room
Garden view room was really a pool view room and it was noisy with children all day. Room was reasonable size for short stay, but would not have wanted to be there for long though there was a sort of kitchenette. Cleaning sub-standard. A season's worth of dust on venetian blinds and floor gritty with sand. You go to see the dolphins and they perform on cue and make it all worthwhile.
Nice resort (although a little crowded) in a lovely location
The villa rooms are just average and a little pricey for what you receive. Our room had a slightly bad smell in the bathroom. As we arrived after reception had closed, we put up with it. Despite this, I still recommend this resort and that is for its location. Monkey Mia is lovely and so is the nearby town of Denham. Note: RAC members receive a discount. The on site restaurant and the casual dining eatery were both good.
Disappointing and overpriced
The only option to stay at Monkey Mia. $69/night is over the too when you consider the on top fees for entry to the conservation park and dolphin experience, which is hit and miss. The park has rules but these are useless if no one enforced them. One vehicle per sight is a joke. People had two cars plus boat or jet ski on their allotted site and neighbouring grass areas. Since entering WA I have noticed that locals think that they can park wherever they like. Totally rude and inconsiderate. We have done it now and won’t be back.
Worse camp site I’ve ever been to
No idea how this “resort” has four stars here. Camp sites are small. You’re packed in like sardines. You have idiots pumping their sound systems all night. The irritation of uncontrolled children playing with ‘scooters’ and screaming all night. Zero shade or privacy on the powered and unpowered camp grounds. Queues for showers. Paying double - once for the camp ground and again just to drive your car past the gate. You’ll drive hundreds of kilometres through nowhere just to get here. This is a very obvious price gouge and cash grab for the RAC. It is NOT a five star resort or anything close to it - I would describe it more as a glorified Outback hotel. And to top it off you pay top dollar for both rooms and sites. Stay in Denham instead and leave the disgusting cash grabs for the foreign tourists.
