Excellent service and great location
We are a couple who celebrated our 30th wedding anniversary by ticking the bucket list and going to Uluru. Sails in the Desert is the place to stay - great location; good friendly service; fantastic food; modern facilities and rooms; relaxing and much needed swimming pool for the end of a hot day. We loved every minute of our stay! The trainee program being run for indigenous young people is a credit to the resort. We were always provided with a smile and sometimes a good laugh from the staff. Thank you - we will be spreading the word before it gets too busy again.
Best Place To Be Right Now
Where do I start.. Arriving to Sails you are greeted with the most beautiful smiles, Checking in was easy. My room was very spacious, all the linen was immaculate!!! I'm very impressed, design of the room was nice and simple, the balcony is good., my bathroom was pretty and always my towels were changed. Everyday I saw a lot of the employees working hard cleaning rooms after rooms with a smile. Employees at the restaurant & bar were very helpful and caring. Reception and managers were very professional & considerate, after having few tours cancelled and flights cancelled . Great Job!!!! I am one very happy & satisfied person with the way Sails in the desert runs.. I highly recommend this resort!!! I will be back very soon.. Keep up the good work.
Nice hotel and large room
We stayed here as a couple and stayed in one of the superior rooms with the large balcony and sun beds on level 2. I would recommend asking for these particular suits as the verandah is quite large and has a huge sun lounger over looking the pool, though you can see your neighbours on the verandah, so not recommended if you want complete privacy. The bed is huge and room is a great size with lounge and desk. The restaurant options are limited and we could not buy wine to takeaway at the time. The hotel staff are very friendly and hotel lobby is light and plenty of seating options to sit back and enjoy. The pool also provides seating and sun lounges to lay around the pool to cool off during the very hot days.
Best place in the NT
We loved it. The grounds have been done up, the rooms renovated, staff were as polite as ever, this has to be the best place in the NT. Despite COVID dropping the numbers down that was definitely not a bad thing for us. Thankyou.
Fantastic couple of days
We were here for four nights, three of them booked on a luxury escape which included the Field of Lights and Sounds of Silence dinner which were both fantastic. We hired a car for 3 days which was essential . We did a Segway tour around the Rock, which we loved, walked the Walpa George and the valley of the Winds 7.4 klm walk which was quite hard, and had the best massage of my life in the day spa, thanks Jo. We finished our afternoon with a helicopter ride of the rock and Kata Tjuta, tomorrow morning is the sunrise camel 🐪 tour to finish our holiday. The rooms are amazing. Brand new bathrooms with the best shower we have ever had, clean comfortable beds and a large lagoon pool to relax around after a big day.. The food and wine here is expensive, and you CANNOT buy any alcohol outside the resort. I would recommend that you bring some supplies with you if possible. wine is on average $60 per bottle and I must say I was disappointed tonight that the glasses used for the Pinot and Martini’s were way off which degraded our dining experience. If your charging high end prices, at least use the appropriate Glassware not tumblers. we had a great time and would come back but with some supplies on board.
