Terrific spot to relax in Jabiru
An oasis in Kakadu, particularly given the COVID-19 situation in Australia at the moment. While it was hot, the pool was very refreshing as were the drinks in the bar. The menu, although a little limited, was interesting and the two meals we had there were very good. Our staff were terrific and very friendly and catered to our needs very well. A good start to our holiday in the top end,
Saved by the staff
Let me start by emphasizing how fantastic the staff at Mercure Crocodile Kakadu are. The actual hotel is truly dreadful and not even worth a 2.5 star let alone a 4 star. On entering our room we were hit by a very unpleasant odour which pervaded during our entire 4 night stay .I actually kept the room freshener so I could spray thrice daily. The rooms are dirty, old and in desperate need of either demolishing or bombing. The tiles are disgustingly dirty ,the grout built up with mould and the shower head and bath decrepit . I also asked for a chux and cleaning solution as the area where glasses and cups were kept was so sticky that it attracted tiny ants. The sheets and doona also had stains and clearly the soft furnishings have not been cleaned for a while as there was a sheen of dust covering them. It is very surprising that Mercure/Accor are happy to associate their name to this and continue advertising it as a 4 star. On a happier note all the staff are exceptionally obliging and helpful especially Connor from the front desk and Mary from the restaurant. Sadly this is the best Jabiru has to offer.
Very dated hotel, staff are fantastic, restaurant was really good. Rooms are nice and clean but needs an upgrade. Get a ground floor room if you can as the upstairs ones don’t seem to have balcony’s .
A simple ,clean and pleasant hotel in the National Park ,built in the shape of a crocodile.
Rooms were spacious, clean, a bit old fashioned and weary but did the trick. The pool was a refreshing place to find at the end of a hot day. The restaurant was busy but well run and efficient. The bar and food were at reasonable prices and the quality was good. This was a little oasis in the Kakadu National Park.
Great food, the hotel is aged
Went there for two nights over the weekend. The room is clean, based and vintage. Friendly staff. The breakfast and dinner were very few options. But the food was great, love the pan fry barra and the large chunk of steak. Accor plus member gets discount for dining. That was a great deal.
