Overrated, not a very good experience, we check out a day earlier and move to a different Hotel
The Staff are super friendly and polite, yes is a Free MiniBAR and happy hour that is a good thing but you kind of paying for it upfront, because is not cheap, the included breakfast was horrible another bad thing is the Hotel need a bit of Maintenance, beds were clean but you can tell the sofa and rugs need a good steam clean.. we book the Penthouse expecting real '"penthouse" experience, but no way far from, The Jacuzzi took a very long time to heat up, they advertise Pinball Machine in the room, but is not working, I know is not a big deal, but don't advertise if doesn't work, other thing the rooms don't have a separate thermostat so if guests in room #one want cooler than room #two not possible again Staff very polite and Friendly but maybe owners not listening to the staff? all day snacks not kind of true, is just candies and lollies, not real snacks.. Anyways, overall I feel, like I overpaid for a average service..
Girls city stay
Fabulous welcome from the start. Front desk staff so friendly. Nothing was a problem for them. Foyer/bar is small, but so is the hotel. The rooms are compact yet generous with a good sized living room. We had a 2 bedroom apartment and it was ideal. Road works were going on outside but it was peaceful inside. No noise at all. The help yourself lolly bar and coffee is great and a bit of fun. Happy hour between 6-7pm is generous and friendly. Everything was lovely and would highly recommend this for a city stay.
I can’t recommend this place more highly. We stayed in the Terrace suite where I hosted a small dinner party. The space was perfect-large terrace, out door heaters and speakers. Comfortable beds and lounge room and free mini bar!! But the staff made the stay!! They were incredibly helpful in the lead up to my stay, answering all of my MANY emails and questions, helping supply extra cutlery, crockery and glassware for my guests and helping get all of our luggage up to the suite. They were truly amazing and I would definitely stay again!!
Not a big fan of the room/bathroom design
This is the 3rd Ovolo property that I've tried (and the smallest in size), after Ovolo Nishi in Canberra and Ovolo Woolloomoolloo in Sydney. So the inclusions like the goody bag and free minibar are no more a surprise, but of course still much appreciated. Also the free coffee & tea and the fruit & candy bowls at reception are a welcome sight, though there's not much space to enjoy them. Size of the room is moderate and actually quite comfortable, however I just don't agree with some of the design features. For example, the mini sink in the bathroom, with the tap positioned sideways which makes it awkward if you want to wash your face (or do anything, really, without splashing water to the floor). Another thing: the bed is placed in a podium slightly higher than the rest of the room, which is less of a design statement and more of a tripping hazard. The staff are friendly and efficient, and the location is in what I personally think the best section of Melbourne CBD (quietly stylish, not as glaringly expensive as Collins St area, with a breadth of cafes and restaurants nearby). But the room is the main part of every hotel stay, and I just wish I could've liked it more.
We had an amazing time at Ovolo Little Bourke St. The staff were so helpful and friendly. The hotel has a fun and funky vibe. Definitely a step up from those generic hotel chains. It has some really nice touches to it such as the breakfast bar where you can grab a coffee and brecky on the run. It's in a great location to explore all the great things Melbourne has to offer. I will definitely come back here!
