Having stayed at this hotel a few years ago I know how good it really is and I think out stay here during quarantine was entirely different. No doubt we didn’t get the usual experience but to be fair I’m not sure that was entirely the hotel’s fault. The room was fine, and fortunately we had a view of Collins St, so something to look at. No the windows didn’t open, no there was no outside exercise but this wasn’t the hotel’s fault. Nor presumable were the awful meals. Perhaps the government should have provided microwave ovens then we could have at least heated the otherwise tepid meals.Room service was ok but choice wasn’t really much and was pricey. However the second week we could get Uber eats. We also took delivery of a large package from home which was a lifesaver. Hotel were good and on arrival social distancing and precautions were taken. I did think though that our luggage and outdoor clothes should have been taken for disinfecting. From our point of view maybe some cleaning materials needed to be in the bathroom but overall I would like to thank the staff through what has been a very trying time. We did have security guards outside the room and they always seem to have masks. Thank you Novotel
during our stay in Melbourne we were two night in this hotel. It's nice located in the centre of the city. Very close to a lot of restaurants and bars. Chinatown is also very close and there are a lot of malls.
WIFI IS BAD!!!!!
I came to chill at the hotel looking to use some wifi and I paid for it and it was not even that good I try to load up google and it took 2 mins and after 2 mins it said can not reach please reload your internet which means I had to pay for wifi again
Not great for quarantine
14 days in isolation in this hotel was not pleasant. Food delivered warm in takeaway containers, not large, little variety, not particularly tasty. Other paid choices from hotel restaurant were expensive, with very little choice and served in disposable containers. Room insulation not great so sleep not great when noisy guest around
3rd world internet in the middle of Melbourne
my wife and I are staying here for compulsory 14 day quarantine after a 2 month holiday in the USA. We got better internet services in the middle of Kansas than we are at this hotel in the middle of Melbourne. Even after being put on the premium internet service, we are getting download speeds of less than 2mbps, and we are told by the hotel IT guy there is nothing more that can be done. Since this is our only connection with the outside world this is just disgraceful. Hotel management really need to lift their game in this area to attract connected travellers. This is the worst internet connection I have ever experienced anywhere in the world.
