Upon arriving were welcomed then asked to wait in the Drawing Room for someone to be brought to seat us at our table. After 15 minutes with no one attending to us and not even being offered a drink, my partner waving out her arm caught a staff member’s attention. We were then taken to our table right down the very back of the brasserie, where we were seated and again waited another 15 minutes before a waiter came to our table. Decor was out dated even for its era, As we opened the window where our table was situated the window latch was broken and hanging off and the Sash window would not even stay up and open. Given there were only two other couples dining in the Brassiere restaurant, who left soon after we arrived where we were were dining, we found the service appalling. We actually had to ask for water during our lengthy half hour wait, and then ask to order a drink! We felt largely ignored, out of sight out of mind! The meal was nice enough, although only slightly above what I would call Pub standard. After paying, we ordered our Uber, and left without staff even noticing or acknowledging our attendance! Will not return and believe there are many other places along the Mornington Peninsula that are worthy of taking anyone’s hard earned dollars. Woodman Estate is largely overrated and failed to deliver advertised standards.
Outstanding all round
Booked a chalet and garden room. The chalet meets all expectations, simply charming. The aim was to relax and rejuvenate, that we did. Gorgeous lake cottage with gas log fire and spa with a view. A huge 4 poster bed screamed luxury. We chose the 3 course dining option in room which was amazing. Breakfast included and a choice of plates with fruit, coffee and juice. Finished our stay with a walk around the lake. Big Thank you to the service provided, particularly Ashlee, she really is a lovely lady and I appreciated the extra kind service. I hope others consider staying here, especially those after a romantic whimsical weekend.
Arrived with no-one at desk to greet us and staff not knowing what was going on, dinner was average at best for what was charged and we were laying in bed talking watching a movie, and at 940pm got a knock on the door and told to take it down a notch. We have been very respectful and quiet. Very dissappinting.
Wonderful stay - Girl's Night Away Package
My friends and I could not have been happier with our stay at Woodman estate. The customer service was immaculate from Rick and his team throughout: from booking, dining, spa services and through to check out. The girl's night away package add ons with spa treatment and brasserie dinner were great value and added to the supreme relaxation with everything available onsite and no need to drive or rush. The quality dining and excellent wine list did not disappoint and I was very well catered for as a vegetarian. The property is beautifully appointed and the setting is certainly picturesque - a twilight stroll around the lake and gardens after a generous dinner is a must! Also, nice to visit when there were lovely festive touches throughout the property done with elegance for the Christmas season. Highly recommended - we were sorry we had not booked a longer stay!
