A warm welcome.
Anna & Duncan's guest house is lovely. A friendly welcome and a very comfortable terrace room with free parking outside. Best bit was the breakfast in the morning. Everything you could possibly want and fresh. Although we only stayed one night it was one to remember.
Great Accommodation in Apollo Bay
Apollo Bay is a lovely location for Captains at the Bay guest house. We had a warm welcome and were shown to the great Captain's Cottage where we could park our hire car immediately outside the door which was handy for unloading. There was a large king size bed with a wall at the back behind which was the bathroom and utility area. We really liked this layout and felt it added a lot to the quality of the room. There is a guest laundry a short distance away and use of the washing machine and tumble dryer costs AUD$7 which was very reasonable. Breakfast offered a reasonable range of food choices and you could opt for bacon and eggs. Our eggs were somewhat over cooked though which was a shame. There is no food service apart from the breakfast, however there are a large number of restaurants available within a short walking distance. It is certainly a place that I would highly recommend if you are driving the Great Ocean Road.
This is a small, quirky hotel offering comfortable accommodations either in bungalow style units or rooms in the main house..onsite parking is included. Only breakfast is offered but this is excellent. Other meals can be taken at various restaurants a short walk away, and the owners can give good recommendations. The location is excellent for the Apostles and other rock formations such as London Bridge, and also for Cape Otway. It sits close to the Great Ocean Road, a pleasant drive from Melbourne.
We had a beautiful and large room with deck for 3 nights facing the water with a partial ocean view. The room was spotless and quiet as the B&B is situated away from the Great Ocean Road. We had help with our suitcases from the owner as there were stairs to negotiate. As well as yogurts, cereal, toast and coffee, breakfast was complete with individually ordered bacon and eggs. Location was perfect for walking to restaurants, coffee shops, the beach and shopping. Bottled water and wine were available for purchase.
We spent one night here on our Great Ocean Road trip, and really liked it. We were in the main building, one flight of stairs up, in the 'North West' room which overlooks the back of the property. At the risk of being picky, that wasn't ideal because there was a campervan parked on the property behind whose occupants could, if they were minded, have looked directly into part of our room through wide glass fronted balcony doors. But that aside, the room was lovely. Very well appointed, spotless, with a modern bathroom with double sinks and a large wet room style shower. There was a bath too, but a freestanding one in the room itself which was a little unusual and certainly not for the prudish or those lacking in body confidence. A fridge and tea/coffee making facilities rounded off the in-room essentials. Excellent continental and/or cooked breakfast included which was good value. Mine hosts were very helpful and obviously skilled in pointing out things to see and do in the local area.
