From the first contact via phone booking through to the check out at Reception as we left, this stay was wonderful. We were in Eco Villa 1, a 2 bedroom unit, and really appreciated the facilities and the view. The quality of the breakfast foods, the toiletries and the furniture was excellent. We did have a problem with the satellite connection for the TV - but who really needs TV in such an amazing place! We dined at the Wool Shed, enjoyed the food and good wine, loved the setting, appreciated the friendly staff plus the social distancing spacing meant the noise level was low. The walks and drives were terrific! SA can be proud of this offering.
Rawnsley Park Homestead
We are SA locals and have visited the Flinders Ranges often, including previous stays in the Rawnsley Park Eco villas. But the Homestead was an exceptional experience. Its location away from the hustle and bustle of the main Rawnsley Park area meant we felt like we were alone out in the bush, akin to camping but with a luxurious bed to sleep in and kitchen to cook in. We had every amenity we could have hoped for including daily service which seemed very decadent but appreciated. The homestead has 360 deg views, a beautiful verandah for watching the sunset and a huge fire pit for after sundown. Highly recommend.
Luxury in the Bush
Stayed for three nights and reveled in the comfort. Breakfast materials were spot on (but no vegemite!) and place was immaculate and very comfortable. Restaurant was great - esp the lamb (funny that). Best complimentary wine I have ever received too. Will be back.
5 day walking experience in eco-villa
My daughter and I couldn't have asked for a better experience on our recent hiking tour of the Flinders Ranges. Firstly, the eco-villas are amazing - beautifully clean, amazing amenities including air-conditioning and a washer/dryer. Delightful verandah overlooking the ranges, so picturesque. Well equipped kitchen, lovely bathroom and comfy beds. We ate in the Woolshed Restaurant every night except when we swagged on the Chace Range (all meals included in the price). The food was outstanding and the staff so friendly and helpful. We ate breakfast in our villa which was supplied by Rawnsley Park and lunch was usually a delicious wrap, fruit, cake and juice. All the daily hikes were completely different but so interesting. Our favourite had to be the hike to Rawnsley Bluff and then lunch overlooking Wilpena pound. The highlight of the week was the chopper flight up to Chace Range in the afternoon then spending the evening watching the sunset and stars. A delicious curry and a good sleep in deluxe swags. We wouldn't consider ourselves "happy campers" but we both loved this experience. Finally, a huge shout out to Kym, our trusty guide for the week. Kym is one fit and knowledgeable man with a fabulous sense of humour. We shared plenty of laughs and he taught us much about the incredible Flinders Ranges. I couldn't recommend this tour more highly.
... a great experience
We got there Friday afternoon and enjoyed a pleasant check in experience with the young lady who was most helpful. Our 3 bedroom unit was clean and well presented and it was a pleasure sitting on the front veranda taking in the silence. Dinner was an interesting experience as the restaurant was apparently booked out for 10 consecutive nights. We negotiated a couple of pizzas to be eaten outside, which was better than having no food at all for the evening. Checkout was another pleasant experience with the same young lady who checked us in. Overall, a lovely, good value place to stay. Just book in for dinner when you make your reservation :)
