Villa full of mozzies
Beautiful villas in a stunning setting. We especially enjoyed the swimming pool and eating the complimentary bread & dukka on the villa’s deck. But unfortunately on arriving into our villa at 2pm we noticed lots of mosquitoes flying around. At night it got worse and we were woken at least 10 times from mozzies buzzing in our ears. I understand that the villas are in a natural place but it’s very disappointing to be bitten to shreds and have the worst sleep of your life when you’ve splashed out on luxury accomodation. They do have fly screens, which we kept shut the whole time, so it was clear the mozzies were there before we arrived.
Fabulous and oh so beautiful Flinders stay
We absolutely highly recommend the Rawnsley Park Station We had the superior apartment It’s superb, and so clean and well situated. We had a beautiful kitchen to cook in and fabulous shower and bathroom. The linen is top notch too. Staff are friendly and very informative. Close to everything and great to come home too. Thanks for the great stay Rawnsley. Denise and Col McMaster
We stayed 3 nights in a very luxurious Eco Villa which had everything that we needed. The food supplies were plentiful and tasty and the bed was very comfortable with the skylight to look at the stars on the 1 clear night we had. It was a very comfortable place to stay for the morning that it rained and was lovely to see the Ranges looking so green. We ate in the Woolshed Restaurant 2 nights (booked weeks before our trip) and the Lamb Platter was wonderful. We also took a Scenic Flight with Chinta Air to Lake Eyre with lunch at William Creek which was the highlight of our 2 week trip.
Perfect one day - crazy the next in the Australian outback
We stayed 4 nights in one of the eco-villas and loved the unique accommodation. The villa is huge with a lovely porch on 2 sides so you can just sit and enjoy the changing colours of the ranges, check out the "visitors" - kangaroos, rabbits, and horses - or just listen to the wind through the cypruss pine trees whilst you enjoy a cold one and cook your bbq. At night you can lay in bed and star watch through the skylights above the bed. Satellite tv has lots of channels, plus radio and dvd player. Breakfast supplies kept us going all day - muesli, croissants, bread, butter, jams, yoghurt, milk, eggs, 3 cereals, coffee machine and lots of pods, oranges, apples, and juice. Each day what you use is replaced. One day we had 100km/hr dust storm come in from the north along with lightning, rain and small hail. There was water over the road to the station as well as the road to the villas so we are glad we hired an SUV to get around. We enjoyed a 45min early morning flight over the ranges with our pilot Hugh (Chinta Air) telling us what to look for etc. Try the cheesy garlic pizza bread in the Woolshed Restaurant as a starter. Yum! Not to sure when we will be back but thank you for helping me tick one more item off my bucket list.
The Eco Villas at Rawnsley Park are five star luxury set in the natural and beautiful surrounds of the Flinders Ranges. They are a great spot to retreat from the bustle of life, without sacrificing the comforts of home! We will definitely plan another stay.
