Great 4 nights at rawnsley
Home after a great 4 night stay. Well appointed modern- clean cabins, great views, firepits, hot showers , mtb tracks and friendly staff. A fab place to explore the Flinders Ranges or just stay in the park.
We recently stayed 2 nights at the caravan park at Rawnsley Station on our way up North. Arrived about 3pm without a booking and the office was due to open at 4pm but no worries found easy instructions to choosing an available powered site marked on park map, setting up the camper and popping back in to pay when the office opened. Very friendly and accommodating owners, shop on site with any supplies you need including firewood. The park and surrounding bushland is stunning with great facilities and amazing walks, we loved the fact we could bring our new puppy. Happy Campers🏕
Excellent Holiday Venue
Great place to stay and enjoy what the Flinders has to offer. Excellent hosts and staff, great accomadation, and an amazing restaurant with great australian food. We took our bikes as there were tracks around the station that were easy to ride and allowed us to enjoy the stunning views.
A little expensive
Came here after Staying at Arkaroola and what a difference. Arkaroola is comparatively run down and decidedly run on a very amateurish level whereas Rawnsley was a very welcome surprise. Rawnsley Park is run as a tourist project should be. Stayed in a 2 bedroom basic cabin. The beds are a little hard (this is better than soft and worn out) with nice ample pilllows and very clean bathrooms. I do appreciate the work on many of the little things. I though some better lighting in the main room was needed as it was quite dull and that is my only criticism. There is gas heating in the cabin which has an odour that I find unpleasant and that may just be me. In summary there is so much to love about this place that the very small issues are not enough to stop me going back. Well done
Pick here over Wilpena Pound resort
Have stayed in Wilpena pound resort and heard from others who have as well, the resort is not well cleaned or maintained. It appears that it isn't well managed or looked after. Rawnsley Park Station is run by lovely people, and has a delightful restaurant nearby that does a mean pizza. Accommodation varies with price, cheap cabins for up to 6 people with a fully equipped kitchenette are what we went for. Works out between 50-210pp a night depending how many you others you stay with. The hot water is great, kicks in straight away and water pressure is good. Beds have electric blankets. It's very clean. It's quiet. Only has 500mb free wifi, also the phone signal is terrible so you want wifi. The walls are very thin so we could hear the TV going from the cabin next door. Still.. everyone in the area was quiet at night so there weren't any noise problems.
