SUGGESTED STAY & CRUISE ITINERARY
Day 1 UK to Bangkok
Depart the UK on your overnight flight to Bangkok.
Days 2-4 Bangkok
On arrival, transfer to Shangri-La Bangkok for a pre-cruise stay. This luxurious riverside hotel is in a prime location for exploring Bangkok on the Chao Phraya River, moments away from a Sky Train station. In three nights, you’ll have plenty of time to get the most out of Bangkok – whether you want a panoramic view from a rooftop bar or to explore the intricate interiors of temples. Bangkok is home to some of the most beautiful Buddhist structures, like the 43-metre-long golden Buddha that lies majestically at Wat Po. Stop by a night market for some delightfully cheap and tasty Thai food made on the spot, and have a beer on backpacker-central Khao San Road. Bangkok is buzzing day and night so there’s always something to do. If you venture further afield you can visit some interesting markets like Damnoen Saduak Floating Market where you’re sold fresh pad thai and souvenirs on the waterways, and the famous Maeklong Railway Market where you can watch as vendors pull back their awnings to make way for a passing train. Or you can enjoy some downtime and make the most of the hotel’s renowned CHI, The Spa with an energising Thai massage or soothing aromatherapy treatment. The hotel even has a chocolate boutique for an indulgent treat. A river cruise is a great way to see the city, whether it’s a practical trip on one of the cheap and cheerful public boats or a dinner cruise on an intimate barge complete with a three-course dinner and wine.
