Since we cannot fly anywhere, and getting outta town in this heat involves long drives, we decided to go to our favorite Tel Aviv hotel, for merely one weekend. And it was the best decision. Some pool time, some beach time, great food, and the best part - great ocean view. The Hilton Tel Aviv is located on a hill overlooking the Mediterranean, and one cannot get enough of that view. You both wake up and go to sleep with the ocean and the city rooftops at your feet. Our room was on the 11th floor, and so the view was nothing short of spectacular. The seawater pool was merely empty and so it felt like an almost private getaway. We got to fight the heat by swimming in the water and enjoying yet again the wonderful sea view. The pool bar being open, we got to enjoy some wonderful cocktails and chilled wine while the kids could enjoy some ice cream. The walk to the beach, being lengthier due to Covid-19 regulations was still a marvel as one needs to cross the lawn leading down to the ocean. And the marina being a short stroll away as well offered great local fish cuisine for dinner. As for breakfast, the great selection the Hilton buffet is known for remained intact despite corona regulations and our table was filled with everything from pancakes to a variety of bread, fish, cheeses and salads. All in all, it was a great break from the tension filled routine.
We celebrated our 49th wedding anniversary at this Hilton during the Covid-19 pandemic and only a couple dozen people were staying at the hotel at the time. Though this hotel was hurting economically, we were treated like royalty. They went out of their way to make our stay safe as well as enjoyable. They even gave us a complimentary upgrade. We would highly recommend this hotel and can't wait for another occasion to stay there.
Very Bad Experience!
Have stayed here many times over the years and been very happy with the amazing pool, great views, quiet setting and nice staff! During my last one week stay I had a very bad experience there! Every evening I placed all of my receipts, notes,business cards I had received in a pile on the dresser! On my second to last night there I returned to my room to discover the housekeeper had thrown away the entire pile of important papers from that week! Hotel management apologized which I appreciated give me extra Hilton points which I also appreciated but never made an adjustment to my bill which I was promised! There was no way to replace the information that was thrown away but they should never make promises they don't intend to honor! Emails to them never resolved it and I am now a very unhappy former customer!
What a pleasant stay
As always, this hotel provided a pleasant stay and excellent customer service. The rooms are well maintained. The amenities are excellent. The staff is very professional and attentive. The breakfast foods are high quality and offer a wide variety from fish to vegetables, from hot or cold cereals to made-to-order eggs.
French family refused
Yesterday, we went to Hilton Tel aviv to finish a wonderful week of family Holiday in Israel. We arrived in the country 3 days before the travel ban to French people due to Coronavirus and as we had read carefully the Israeli foreign affairs website, we thought there was no problem. When we arrived, Hilton staff started to talk in Hebrew and English. A young lady arrived and told her colleague not to do the check in (in English). We were explained that due to government decision as we were French, we could go in the hotel but had to stay in our room in quarenteen untill our departure. Differently, the staff would have to warn Israel police. Since I knew it was not like this (2 hotels had accepted us before and the Foreign affair website did not say so for tourists already in the country), I argued it was not true but was told I had to stay in my room with my wife and 3 kids, or leave immediately. I called 2 other hotels who both accepted us, and went away, very disappointed by this terrible experience for our last day. I want to add that I do not blame the staff who only applied Hilton guidelines, but Hilton management who made a wrong interpretation of the official rule, as confirmed by the nearest beach hotel. It would also have been fair and professional to inform us before, since we had booked and paid a 1000 $/ night family room and obviously, let all our contact details. I hope i will be refund.
