Not a proper 5 star hotel!
We stayed at the Sofitel Palm Jumeirah from 10 January to 15 January. The start was good as we were upgraded from a Junior Suite to a One Bedroom Apartment. We loved the apartment and the views of the sea. There were some issues which we chose to ignore such as both TVs were not working properly and there was no channel list to choose from. No shower gel in the bathroom. No clothes iron. One day we were expecting guests at the apartment and called room service at least 5 times. Last time I called the receptionist confirmed that our room was cleaned at 4pm. We went up to our room with our guests and found out that the room's door access system was not working. However, I have to mention that Mr Shahid Malik made sure the access issue was resolved quickly. We entered the room and found that the room had not been cleaned. That was extremely disappointing and basically meant that operator/receptionist lied to me that our room was cleaned when it was not!!!!. Our last night was the absolute worse. We found a lizard in our bed. (Pics attached). I called room service about 3 times before they sent someone to remove the lizard. I had to call again and ASK for our room to be changed, which they did. There was no apology from anyone about this. No visit from the supervisor or Manager. Nothing was offered to us in return for this bad experience. No effort was made at all to make it up to us. I must mention the few staff who went out of their way to try and make our trip worthwhile - Mr Salman and Mr Yousef who would drive us back and forth from the main hotel building to our apartment building. Never going back there!
Wonderful, relaxing stay and super friendly staff
Great hotel! Sofitel really stands out with its incredibly kind and helpful staff. Especially Teddy from housekeeping made us feel welcome and made our stay very special with his friendliness, flexibility when it came to cleaning our room (to a very high standard) and a few really nice surprises. The concierge service organized an express Covid Test for us within 10minutes on a very short notice from our side, so thank you again! Under the covid19 circumstances this Hotel has done a great job making our stay as perfect as possible
Sofitel hotel the palm
Jagath has been very helpful the whole holiday working on the beach being so efficient with orders. A really nice man and played a huge part in making this holiday so enjoyable. He is a credit to himself.
Friendly staff, great Club access
I really liked this hotel. We had a junior suite with club access which meant that there were multiple times during the day we could get something to drink and eat in the Club lounge. The staff there was especially nice and went out of their way to make sure we were comfortable. They had no smoothies in the Club lounge, but once they found out how much I like a banana smoothie, they made one each day. They also were very helpful with other requests such as booking our PCR tests before departure. The property with the beaches and pools is plenty big and well kept. The Kids Club is also great with a lot of activities to do. They even gave me a bag of goodies when we checked out. The only downside I can think of is that due to its location it takes quite some time to get to one of the malls or JBR and that,due to Covid, they have no shuttles to bring you. As a result you’ll unintentionally may spend almost all of your time in the resort and forget that there is so much more to see.
Hi, we had a great stay at this hotel. We also were so happy from the services of one man Vishal from the morning breakfast. He was so gentle and always helped us being sorted with best tables outside and also lovely Indian breakfast recommendations. Just ask for Vishal! Have a great stay! Cheers!
