Wonderful stay in Ras Al-Khaimah
This is the second Ritz-Carlton property we stayed at in Ras Al-Khaimah and although very different from the desert one it is a whole world away from Dubai and another level in terms of quality of accommodation and service. This hotel is great for seclusion and with only one restaurant on the resort the room service was of a very good standard and with a good range of options too for the family. You couldn't honestly come here for a week and forget where you are in the world and lose a huge range of worries at the same time! Wouldn't do anything but recommend this hotel for the unique nature of the accommodation and outside space, which was even usable in late July due to the temperature controlled pool. Wonderful stay, do it and I'm sure you will enjoy it!
Nice property - very ordinary stay
At the outset, the property and location were excellent. However, It looks like the hotel staff had clearly forgotten how it is to run an efficient luxury hotel. This was the most forgettable experience I have ever had at a Sheraton /ritz property. I had requested an early check in and arrived at the hotel around 11:30 am. Early check in was not accommodated (acceptable) but we got our room AFTER some other people who had arrived later than us got their rooms (and I am a gold client). Also the gold benefits (and free vouchers) were not explained or offered to me at check in. The whole check in experience was like I were a member of low cost tour group client and not a premium client who had booked online through Sheraton app There was also a misunderstanding while availing spa services. After the spa, the counter person said that the debit could not be posted to my room as there was not sufficient in my authorised hold. Even when we called up the reception they could not sort it out.......please guys, I was staying at your hotel, I don’t carry my wallet to the spa and I did not ask you to take a small authorisation Amount. Very unpleasant (and my first) such experience. Other stuff like, delays in sending bakies to pick us up from my room, getting my breakfast order wrong summed up this very ordinary stay. A pity really, as we had chosen ritz for its hospitality and were looking forward to a nice break after the covid lock-in. But thank you Ritz, you have adequately demonstrated to me how an unpleasant and forgettable stay at a premium (and my favourite brand) of hotel looks like......
relaxing and romantic getaway
We have visited this place in order to celebrate our anniversary. when we entered we taught we are out of U.A.E. it was like we are somewhere else like maldives. the nature is beautiful the villas are sooo chick, luxury yet cosy and relaxing. the beach is totally different than all the beaches in Dubai. the sand is white and the sea gave me the feeling of Mediterranean. the guy named (Vikram) took care of all our needs. we were receiving all the requirements in no time. on the other side the lady at the reception once we were checking in was not very charming and welcoming. same as the waiter who served us breakfast. they were very grumpy. maybe it was my expectations that were so high comparing it to the hospitality i have seen and experienced in other 5 stars resorts. lastly the breakfast was waaaaaay below expectations. in fact it was even waaaaaay below standards.
It felt in the Maldives from the second we took the ferry to get to our villa. We arrived to a little gem surrounded by an amazing nature on a long white sand beach with a "50 shades of blue" water. We were lucky to be upgraded to Al Naseem Tented Villa beach view with our private pool with a glass rim and an outdoor shower & jacuzzi. The beach experience was wonderful and we had our sunset in the resort's infinity pool facing the beach. They played the movie "Singing in the Rain"on a large screen by the beach so the scenery was magical between the sun setting and the movie playing! The food was excellent; we had 2 days in a row the grilled seafood platter, it is succulent & must-try dish. The breakfast was ok not as rich as the "a la carte" selection. We had our dinner "cheese & wine" in our room by the pool facing the beach. The massage was one of the best we had in a beautiful cabana on the water and with highly professional therapists. It awakened our senses! It was a reinvigorating escape that made us feel alive again! I will try the Wadi property but I will definitely be back to Al Hamra and very soon!
Honeymoon from Hell
We came here for our honeymoon for four nights and are checking out after one night. We have encountered all types of stains, a horrid smell from the mini bar, the floating breakfast for two was a scam and have yet to consume a fresh baked food since I got here - every croissant, bun or piece of bread has been stale. The floor is dusty, the food is disappointing and not fresh, the “curated experiences” are expensive and not worth what you are paying for. Let’s not get into the reptiles in the suite. I feel scammed. Scammed and exploited. This is not worth the rate of 2k AED a night. I’ve stayed in ibis hotels for AED 300 a night and had better quality and service. The saddest part is it was supposed to be my honeymoon, the most special time in my life. My husband is being too kind and didn’t ask for a refund for last night, but I would totally have asked for it as well.
