The best Hotel on the Island
Anyone who vacations in Aruba needs to stay here , From the Staff to the rooms to the food and beverages , 5 Star rating , anyone who says different doesn't know the meaning of a great Hotel . Keep up the great work ! we will be back next year .
A Little Slice of Heaven
This was our 3rd visit to the island. Each time we bring different family members along with us. We love the Beach, Spa and the friendly staff. The staff must be happy because we see many of the same faces every other year we come. The staff are kind and welcoming. You can't beat the Resort and the beautiful scenery on the grounds at the Manchebo Beach Resort and Spa.
Good option in the low rise district
This was our first visit to Aruba and we debated whether to stay in the low rise or high rise district. In the end I think it depends on what sort of trip experience you want. First off everyone in Aruba and most particularly the staff at this hotel are warm and welcoming. The chef at breakfast carved a swan out of an apple and served it on our plate just for fun. When we left for the airport we were given a treat bag and even offered face masks if we wanted for the airport. CoVID was just starting during our stay so things started closing down and the island was half empty. In front of Manchebo is a deep beach which is very lovely and great for walking a mile or so. It was never crowded( whereas a few of the other beaches had parking issues). The water was a little rough and warning signs in lobby so I would not consider this a swimmable beach for the average person. There are. 2 very good beaches for snorkeling( and I am not a strong swimmer) probably 10-15 min away. You are also 10 min from the high rise area with many restaurants. The pool is pleasant but modest- nothing like the mega resorts. The rooms are average to perhaps somewhat small- nice but not luxurious. We did eat at the Hyatt and Hilton and Marriott and their grounds are very resort like as expected but with a much more narrow beach(appeared more swimmable) and no long expanse to walk. The area around the high rises are teeming with restaurants, people, tourist shops. Hotels in both areas appeared to be away from the cruise ship business though none were there during our stay due to CoVID. Casinos are at all the big resorts but they fell well separated. In the end Manchebo is perfect if you like a more boutique experience away from The mobs. If you like a more traditional resort then I would stay in the high rise area where I though the Hyatt was the winner based on restaurants and public areas
Another Nice Stay at Manchebo!
All good except for our spa treatments this time around. There was loud construction noise going on the entire time (80 minutes). We should have been told this prior to our messages and given the option of cancelling due to this. We hope to see Tamara, Bo, Jason, Rebecca and our beach buddy soon! Stay safe!
Few odd things make me rate 4 instead of 5
My husband and I stayed at Manchebo for 10 nights. I am conflicted about how to rate the hotel. I have stayed at many hotels in the Caribbean and Mexico that I would rate 5. There are so many great things about Manchebo but the few concerns we had, I would not expect at a hotel I would rate 5. We added all inclusive upon arrival to the hotel which offers an all inclusive option. To add it was $300 per day for both of us. When asking if there was a mini-bar in the room, the answer at the front desk was "we are not an all inclusive resort". I found this odd since they offer all inclusive. There is nothing in the room other than 2 complimentary bottles of water which are not replenished each day. There is no room service. On all inclusive plan if you want a beer in your room you have to go get it yourself at one of the bars. The resort itself was very well maintained, clean, and accessible. Lots of space, not crowded. Beautiful beach and pool area. The restaurants are outstanding and we had no problem getting a reservation when desired. The bars all offer excellent options including what I consider high end liquor, e.g., Grey Goose vodka. Bar service was outstanding. Hats off to some outstanding staff who provided great service: Bartenders: Junior, Phebus and Megaly Servers: Fannie and Anna Maria at Ike's for breakfast and Jo at dinner Harold took excellent care of us at the Chop House and Sushi Bar. Another reason for a 4 rating was the room. I did not know that the hotel did not have an elevator until just before our trip. Since I have some physical limitations I emailed asking for a 1st floor room. They indicated they would try to accommodate. We had room 56, garden view. Booked a king bed. It was a split King mattress (I think although it may have been to regular size put together) with a large piece of foam in the middle, making a lump in the bed. It was impossible to sleep next to each other comfortably. In addition one side of the bed had less than 1 foot to get out of bed. Unfortunately I hit my head on the hanging picture 2 times when exiting the bed leaving some good sized bumps. The bed could not be moved over. See pics. I am hoping that my last minute request did not result in the bed issue. For as much as we paid for this hotel, I would not have expected this type of issue with the bed. We did have a great vacation and enjoyed our stay. The positives definitely outweighed the concerns. We would return again.
