Eolo is a tiny speck among the vast Patagonian wildlands that surround it. As part of the prestigious Relais and Chateaux group of hotels the Eolo offers fantastic service and a unique ambience. This location is dominated by the power and beauty of the natural world outside, and a stay here invokes the rugged, adventurous spirit of the European and Criollo settlers who first tried to tame this immense wilderness at the end of the world. Eolo offers a thrilling world of possible activities to suit all levels of interest and fitness. Take part in discussions on regional flora and fauna and indigenous myth and custom or engage with the extensive material on Patagonia housed in the well-stocked library. Once you’ve done your research you can horse ride on Cerro Frias, go trekking or cycling across mountains and valleys, try birdwatching and stargazing, or simply appreciate the sweeping views from the elegant restaurant or the cosy lounge. Eolo also offers an indoor pool and sauna and the lodge’s water supply comes from a natural spring located 800 metres above sea level.
The Xelena is located on the edge of the city of El Calafate creating a quieter ambience but still within a 20 minute walk of the town's restaurants, bars and shops. Patagonian fare and Argentinian wines are served at Mora Restaurant where guests can enjoy panoramic lake views. Further facilities include a coffee shop, bistro, a spa offering a range of health and beauty treatments, an indoor swimming pool and a jacuzzi. There are 70 rooms and suites here each featuring air-conditioning, underfloor heating, flat-screen television, Wi-Fi and a Jacuzzi bath. City Rooms overlook El Calafate, whereas the Lake View Rooms have spectacular views over Lake Argentino. The Junior Suites also have lake views, as well as a little more space with a small seating area.
