nice hotel. excellent pool. great view. terrible dinner. have a sandwich at the bar or at the pool bar. this is the perfect hotel to stay in if you want to experience the falls fully. can walk from the hotel to the falls and trails.
We have stayed in hotels all over the world and the Melia has to be in our top 5 of memorable hotels. We can not find anything to fault- from the moment we were picked up at the airport the service we received was good , our room overlooking the Falls was lovely( and worth the extra cost ) and the food at the hotel particularly the breakfast buffet and the evening buffet on one night of our stay was excellent. Maybe the hotel should offer a proper currency change facility but it would be nit picking to downgrade the hotel for this. One point for other travellers is we arranged a hotel driver to take us ( and our luggage) from the hotel to the airport on the Brazilian side including taking us through the border and then leaving us for 3 hours to view the Falls from that side and this worked extremely well and solved the problem of what to do with our luggage on our final day at the Falls.Although there are lockers at the visitor centre we were concerned they might be full and this arrangement solved this problem and was well worth the cost. We cannot think of any hotel anywhere with an infinity pool with such an amazing natural backdrop. We loved it and would definitely recommend the Melia .
we arrived just as the coronavirus shutdown in Argentina started, very few people, but the service and attention was still given by the staff, we were lucky to walk the trails to the falls, beautiful, the next day the park was closed to visitors, huge swimming pool, and thick cushions on the sun beds. there is a roof top bar, which played awful music and it was loud, only visited for one drink..
The only place i would stay in Iguaza
Becouse it is in the park itself this is such a huge advantage over anything else you could pick. Like the park itself, too many people for me personally. If you dont minf buffet and hoards of package tours then fine but it is not too restful. Nice breakfast and bar meals. Lovely pool but crowded. Good value for a 5 start hotel too. DONT bother going over to the Brasil side, waste of time and way more busy. Walk early and late to avoid crowds this side too. Hotel messed up my bill (at thier cost) even though I told them 3 time - happpy days! Bottom line is I think there are a lot of better places top see in Agentina myself.
Location! It saves you a lot of time!
Location, location, location. The hotel is more expensive than the ones in Puerto Iguazú, but this one is already inside the park on the Argentinian side. This means that you save money on transportation to and from the park. And you also save yourself from taking the train that takes you to the park, which also takes time. And time is money especially when you are on vacation. The restaurants prices are not expensive and comparable to good restaurants in Puerto Iguazú such as La Rueda. The food quality and service is great. The rooms are impeccable and the WiFi works perfect. The transportation services offered by the hotel is very expensive. You’d save a lot by making arrangements on your own instead of using the hotel’s.
