the hotel is a pearl in the forest, at walking distance to the waterfalls, and with a swimming pool that is alone worth the price of the night stay. i still remember the fresh ceviche served by the pool, or the romantic dinner in the restaurant all is cared to the details to make this stay memorable.
Outstanding luxury experience
We stay at Gran Melia resort in need of contact with nature. Our room looked to the Iguazu Falls and the view every day was impressive. Rooms are filled with natural light, including the bathroom. Beds are very comfortable and with luxury linens. The room has a big balcony with chairs and table to seat and stare at the Falls. Daily bottles of water were offered complimentary. Breakfast was very complete, with an incredible array of pastries, charcuterie, tropical fruits and juices and many more. One picks from the online menu and the staff brings the food to the table. The dining room also looks at the Falls, so it´s a pleasure to enjoy all the meals there. Lunch and dinner were also very complete, with tasty and delicious food. The swimming pool is huge with plenty of umbrellas and chairs to rest and spend time relaxing in contact with nature. The Red Level Lounge is an exclusive and intimate space where guests can enjoy more private times. Food and beverages there are amazing as well as the sophisticated decoration. Exquisite. An experience to consider having when booking. The direct entrance to the walkways is the grand finale to place this hotel at the top of the list when thinking of traveling to Iguazu. Private parking is offered for free.
If you hesitate for the price, the swimming pool worths it!!!
Location of the hotel is a must. No other hotel allows you to see Garganta del Diablo all the time. To have breakfast looking at the falls is awesome. The Olimpic pool is awesome. Rooms have been updated and , though in a minimalist style, they have all you need. White and sand colour adds calm. Bathroom is comfortable and modern. It was possible to see the falls from it in my room. Breakfast buffet fits Covid-19 requirements while allowing you to choose and staff prepares the dishes. Everything was tasteful and delicious. Staff is very kind and eager to help you. Two downs: 1. Hotel should advertise in RED that nowadays it is not allowed to walk by yourselves through the park. Many people- as myself- choose this location for this reason. 2. Food is very, but very expensive. Rather a nonsense. I believe they are "International prices" but one has already paid a high price for the hotel; I do not find fair to have food overpriced, over all you can not go to a walking distance place to eat elsewhere.
Hotel does not respond to e-mails
I have not yet visited the hotel but in anticipation (we have confirmed reservations) I sent an e-mail to the concierge desk asking information about being picked up and delivered to the airport, tours, airlines, etc. I received no response so I followed up. Again no response. I then sent my e-mail to Sr. Mynor Espinozo, the Director General of the hotel and asked his assistance. Still no response. This is no way for a 5 star hotel to treat it's guests.
In contact with Nature
There are many options at Iguazu to choose a hotel, but the Gran Melia, for me , it’s the best one The room with view of the falls is unique and the Olympic pool is a great value The staff is extremely friendly ( special rewards to Claudio at the front desk) The gym ( if you still have energy) is like to be in NY This is my 6 th time I come here, but not the last one
