Totally worth the price
I generally don’t like to spend that much for a hotel room, but in the case of the Gran Melia Iguazu, it was totally worth it. We had booked guides for Iguazu and Buenos Aires, and our Buenos Aires guide booked this hotel for us. It was absolutely fabulous. The hotel is beautiful, clean and comfortable, and the location cannot be beat. It was so great to have our tour guide walk us around the Argentinian side of the falls and be able to walk right to our hotel. The views from the rooms are beautiful. Our only regret was that we had only booked for one night - it would have been lovely to stay for a few days and enjoy the beautiful pool. Our meals and drinks were excellent and decently priced, considering they have a captive audience and could probably get away with charging more. Service throughout the hotel was wonderful, and we were very sad to have to leave. We hope to be back in a few years and will stay longer next time.
I think that it must be one of the best hotels in America. The location in the middle of the Iguazu National Park gave us an excellent view of the falls. We opened the eyes in the morning, and we could see "La Garganta del diablo" since our room, it was amazing. The pool is immense. The breakfast has several options and the employers were kind and helpful. All the service was excellent, My girlfriend and I were over the moon. It was better than we could imagine.
Better than I imagined
The location of the hotel was perfecto, and you could overlook the Waterfall from the balcony. From the hotel path, you could enjoy the beautiful view of Iguazu Falls all the way. The rooms were not too spacious, but very comfortable. The breakfast was great, perfect even. The service was good, but very slow, not just the restaurant, everywhere. It took ages to serve coffee or maybe I just needed to adapt the South American lifestyle a bit more.
lovely hotel with a spectacular view
The hotel has a lot to offer and in fact is hard to want to even leave it . The food is great, the only complaint would be the bread , all that I tried was not up to the the rest of the offerings. The fresh juice in the morning was such a delight. All the amenities are top notch, the spa area, pool (immense!!) and warm. The lobby and all the open spaces are comfortable and lovely.. My room was great and had a wonderful view of the falls. The bathroom was stocked with soft fluffy towels and a robe which I almost never took off going to the pool and spa every day. Be aware of the monkeys, they will invade your space if you are not careful, especially with food on the patio. I found out the hard way and had to run into my room with my room service meal... It is easy to get into the park from the hotel, you merely walk out of the door. The grounds surrounding the hotel itself are also nice, there are hammocks to lie in and listen to the birds or read a book. Speaking of birds, I saw fantastic toucans on the property just on my walk around. The staff was helpful , really cannot say enough about this property..
Stayed here for two nights. We had arranged to be picked up at the airport and it took us a few minutes to locate our driver but all was well. The hotel is about 10 kilometres from the airport and inside the National Park. The hotel is located with a clear view of the falls, just a few steps from the paths to the falls. The hotel itself is beautiful, rooms spacious and several options for meals and drinks, an infinity edge pool and lounges. Meals were generous and drinks menu more than adequate. Hotel staff are pleasant, helpful and efficient. The warnings about monkeys taking advantage of rooms are true! I was sitting in my room writing when I heard my screen door slide. Sure enough a very cute, but bold little monkey was trying to enter. When it discovered the glass door was closed it gave up.
