Meliá Iguazú

In the heart of the jungle, just a stone’s throw from the falls.

Resort settings don't get much better than this. Bordered by nature on all sides and set within walking distance from the Iguazu Falls, this is the only property that sits within the national park on the Argentinian side of the border. As you sit by the pool you'll be able to see the spray rise up and hear the rush of the water as it thunders over the drop from the upper to the lower Igazú River. You'll have access to the falls before the crowds arrive – a unique experience that's worth waking early for (entrance to the falls is at extra cost). If you can tear yourself away from the viewing platforms for an hour or two, head to the resort's tranquil spa and choose from a variety of treatments and therapies.

At the restaurant you can dine on international buffet dishes and breakfast, lunch and dinner with a view out over the lush jungle. There's also a lobby bar with floor-to-ceiling windows and an open-air terrace – another spot to drink in the area's incredible landscapes. For sunny days by the pool, there's a bar close by that serves tropical juices and cocktails.

Rooms and suites are spacious and modern in style. Some rooms have views of the forest canopy, however, the real show-stopping rooms here are, unsurprisingly, those that have fall views. Step out from your room and on to your private terrace and take in the panoramic vistas and jungle sounds. For a little more space, opt for a Junior Suite with a large terrace and a living area.
