My home in Buenos Aires
I stayed at Palacio Duhau at the end of February, which was my second stay, and at the beginning of March, my third stay at this property. Obviously the rooms and hotel are absolutely stunning. I won’t comment much on that as the pictures do it justice. The rooms are beautiful and it is the best kept hotel in Buenos Aires in this category and I’ve tried them all. What I do want to note is the staff. This was the most memorable aspect of the hotel in my honest opinion. Every single staff member was outstanding and I only regret not memorizing more names but a few that come to mind are Camilo (at breakfast) who runs a really tight ship there and was always helpful, kind and friendly during my lonely breakfasts here. I would also like to mention Ulises from the front desk who went above and beyond for me. I didn’t have too many requests but he made me feel truly special during my stay and I hope he stays with this property because service like this is world class and this is the only hotel I plan on staying when visiting my hometown. Ulises and the front desk team chose a photography book for me and it was a truly touching gift. Thank you. Lastly, I want to mention COVID protocols. I felt extremely safe during my stay. The cleaning protocols, mask wearing, temperature checks, these were all enforced. This is not the case at every hotel so I was happy to see my favorite PH doing so well in this regard. The gym worked with a two person maximum I believe and you had to book it. The spa also felt clean and my masseuse wore a mask the entire treatment which I appreciated. I can’t wait to be back!
One of the best hotels in the world!
I am an event planner and frequent traveler and have traveled all over the globe staying at many 5 star hotels. There are a few that stand out in my memory, and I will include the Palacio Duhau Park Hyatt in those few. I personally think it is the best hotel in Buenos Aires, because once you enter you have your own "park" and it is quiet, private and very different experience than the other very good hotels. Plus the location is one of the finest.
This top-notch hotel is located in the upscale Recoleta area and is simply awesome. There are 2 buildings, one an old french-style palace and one a modern building, connected by a little park on different levels. Public areas are amazing with a beautiful blend of modern and old, lots of artworks and great decoration everywhere. Rooms are spacious and contemporary with nice furniture and decoration. Bathrooms are extra large with walk in shower, bathtub, double sinks and a separate toilet. The spa and indoor pool area are on the smaller side but nicely appointed. There are different restaurants and all are highly recommended. The bar has a terrace overlooking the whole property and is the perfect spot to enjoy the well prepared cocktails. Breakfast is very good with a mix of buffet and a la carte service. Staff all around the hotel is very friendly and professional.
The Palacio Duhau was actually a highlight of Buenos Aries! We spent 4 nights and thoroughly enjoyed the hotel. We stayed in the old section of the hotel in a King Palace room which I highly recommend. Our room was delightful. Beautifully furnished, large, a view and an excellent bathroom. The new section of the hotel doesn't look as appealing. After arriving from a long flight from Australia we were disappointed that our room wasn't ready for our arrival at 5pm but our butler, Roberto, set us up with a table on the terrace with a complimentary cocktail. By the time we had finished our drink our room was ready along with a complimentary bottle of Malbec, chocolates and a card. Very nice. We dined that evening in the Duhau Restaurant on excellent Argentinian food and fabulous wine...it was so good that we ended up dining here for 3 nights out of 4! The terrace and outdoor dining space was a beautiful sanctuary from the hustle and bustle of the city. The staff were always helpful and attentive. Recoleta was a good location in a vast city. While the accommodation was expensive the food and drinks were very reasonably priced. I would stay again if I return.
A Wonderful Place to Stay in Recoleta
We stayed one night only at this hotel. It had been a palace in an earlier incarnation, and it's a gorgeous property and very luxurious. The staff were so helpful. We disembarked bright and early from our cruise ship, and arrived at the hotel in Recoleta just after 9:00 am. Surprisingly, the front desk was able to provide us with a room almost immediately. The room was very large and posh. We enjoyed all of the hotel amenities, and it's in a great location. It was a fabulous treat to have breakfast in the garden overlooking the beautiful garden and courtyard. A great place to stay in Buenos Aires!!
