Beyond exceptional, a once in a lifetime experience!
Just WOW what a memorable 3 days spent at the most outstanding luxury resort in Victoria Falls. From a guided tour through the Victoria Falls to a sunset cruise on the Zambezi River the service and experience provided by the staff at The Royal Livingstone was exceptional. The arrival experience with the dancers from the local tribe to waking up to giraffes and zebra outside the terrace of my room mean that wherever we looked we felt special and blessed. The hotel is majestic and the heritage and history is everywhere to be seen. In summary just go and experience it for yourself its well worth it and we flew up in 90 minutes from Johannesburg so its very accessible.
Never miss the opportunity to be amazed by this breathe taking natural flora and fauna of the Royal Livingstone Hotel. I feel like I belong here given the several times I have visited, but each arrival through the checkout is unique and quite an experience. Big up to you guys🙏🏼.
Not entirely amazing
The food is the worst part! you would prefer to starve if you could, the only satisfaction is at breakfast, relaxing environment, great service and people. If a payment is made in full and you check out early it's kept on account, you can't force people to go back to the hotel, you need to make a refund or pay back, that should be a crime and needs to be reviewed!!
Treated Us Like 'Royalty'!
Right from the start, from the airport to the hotel, we were shown five start treatment. The boat ride to the hotel started right off with an elephant and hippo show. We arrived at the dock with African singers and music. We wasted no time after checking in, which was welcoming and easy, to head to the pool. The locals (giraffes, zebra and Impalas) surrounding us made us feel like we WERE definitely in Africa! A cocktail, the sun, and the animals made a perfect poolside experience. Every single employee gave us 100% of themselves to make sure we were happy, safe, and that we had anything we needed. Our room was perfect and immaculate with a screened in porch and river view. No, I don't think there could be a bad room. The monkeys were kept under control by a guard that was always on duty to make the animals, and humans, behaved. A drink by the river to view an amazing sunset became our nightly ritual. Then it was off to dinner. We always had the most wonderful servers. If we can even say anything negative, it would be that the food needed some help. The menu never changed and maybe was not top notch but okay. We did not come for the food, though, so it didn't not really impact us too much. Zambia was very careful with regards to Covid. We were able to get tested on our way out to South Africa, easy and quick. We definitely would return, hopeful that the menu and food choices will improve as Covid restrictions ease and travel improves. They did a fantastic job of giving us a wonderful unforgettable trip. We highly recommend this stop on your Africa agenda.
