Had a brilliant 4 night stay here in Jan. Room had great views over the Zambezi and we took the trip on hotel boat. Food was really good and service very good. 10 minutes from falls by car, if that and hotel take you down there.
Luxury in Victoria Falls, Zambia side
If heading out to see Victoria Falls, you can base yourself on either the Zambia or Zimbabwe side of the falls. If you decide to check out both sides of the falls, consider getting a dual or casa visa. This will allow you to easily go between Zambia and Zimbabwe. The aha David Livingston Safari Spa and Lodge does not disappoint, located on the bank of the Zambezi river, the property offers spacious, luxury rooms, a beautiful deck with lots of seating, a pool that is great for cooling off. The restaurant offers great food as well as the most delicious cocktails. We highly recommend booking this property. In reference to touring the falls, once you are on either sides of the falls, you can do the tour yourself or with a guide. The falls a must see, get ready for a mist awakening shower as you walk through the many observation points of Victoria Falls. Elephant Café, Zambia There are many things you can do while in Zambia and or Zimbabwe. We got to experience the Elephant Café in Zambia. This is a must for elephant lovers, the experience can start with a speed boat that transports you over to the elephant café, when you arrive you are greeted with drinks, introduced to the staff and then given instructions on how to interact with the elephants. Once the elephants arrive, you get to feed and interact with them fully, this is a once in a lifetime experience. Devils Pool Victoria Falls, Zambia Another excursion we did was the ultimate infinity pool, Devils Pool. Yes, you guessed it, swimming on the edge of one of the worlds largest waterfalls, its a soul awaking experience, and we highly recommend this to those willing to take the plunge. The guides who take you to the edge of the falls are well trained and know what they are doing, just listen to their expertise and you will do great, thank you to the people who make this tour possible. After experiencing the falls, a luxury feast awaits, the service is exceptional, the food delicious and the conversations are priceless, a once in a lifetime experience.
Tranquil and Safe
The "aha" group has several very fine properties in southern Africa and the David Livingstone is one of them. The staff are attentive and friendly as you would expect for a highly rated property and a professional operator. The room I chose (and the others I inspected) were similar if not the same, with tile and wood, sliding doors to the riverfront deck, and a full service bathroom. The mini-fridge and the flat screen TV are handy when the rains slow down the activities for the day. The air conditioner and insect netting over the bed are essential to comfort - a necessity. The usual African rules apply here as elsewhere - close and lock the doors and windows - not to prevent the staff or strangers - but to stop the primates who linger on the trees outside or on the deck rail waiting for an opening or incautious moment - to sprint inside the room and make off with whatever comes to hand. The little devils even know where the mini-fridge is hidden. So, when you enter immediately put your "stuff" into the room safe and lock it, then all clothes into the closets, and barricade the door with a chair. Now you are safe to enjoy that "sundowner" from the deck.
THE DAVID LIVINGSTONE RESORT WAS AMAZING!
The David Livingstone Resort was an amazing experience. From the gracious welcome with delicious ice tea; beautiful sleeping rooms with views over the property and river; the soothing Zambezi River cruise where we saw hippos playing in the water; to the many amenities offered .. IT WAS A TRIP OF A LIFETIME!
An exceptional experience
We are visiting from the UK and have just returned to Lusaka after 4 nights at the David Livingstone Lodge in Livingstone. It was a truly wonderful experience and we can not fault the hotel every aspect of which was exceptional from the stunning location on the banks of the Zambezi to the rooms and food.In particular, the staff were exceptional, unfailingly friendly, efficient and eager to help. In particular, Mariah in the reservation team who went above and beyond in helping us liaise with Kenya Airways when our return flight to the UK were cancelled twice due to the Coronavirus pandemic. It was a very stresssful end to a wonderful stay which would have been a whole lot worse without her cheerful assistance. Cannot recommend highly enough
