Greece

June marks the start of summer in Greece. The country has a treasure trove of Byzantine history, miles of soft sand and clear warm waters with unique coral reefs that make diving from the Greek islands a popular activity. Warm and sunny days with temperatures routinely hitting 30°C are followed by mild nights, and islands like Santorini, Crete, Rhodes, and Corfu are perfect at this time of year before the summer crowds descend. Showers are rare but the sunshine isn’t.

The animals are easier to spot in winter months as the bush is less dense. Agreeable temperatures in the 20s make it a much more pleasant time to be outside than in high summer, and humidity is low.
