Grenada
The most obvious buys on the Spice Island are baskets woven of straw or palm fronds and filled with ginger, cinnamon, nutmeg and other spices. You'll also find hand-crafted goods, from hand-blown glass to straw hats, bags and mats. Look, too, for shell objects and jewellery, china and ceramics. A few shops stock excellent British woollens and cashmeres, if you can face shopping for winter clothing in the tropics. There's also a couple of galleries selling the best of island art.
