Tour Itinerary - 14 nights
DAY 1: CHICAGO, ILLINOIS → Stop off in the 'Windy City', perhaps enjoy a a visit to one of the many museums, restaurants and shops, try the Chicago Architectural River Cruise or visit the aquarium.
DAY 2: CHICAGO, ILLINOIS → SPRINGFIELD, ILLINOIS → Explore this historical city, maybe visiting some of the multitude of sites connected to Abraham Lincoln, including his spectacular house.
DAY 3: SPRINGFIELD, ILLINOIS → ST LOUIS, MISSOURI → Make the most of your time in this great city by perhaps riding up to the Gateway Arch, visiting the zoo, touring the Forest Park or visiting the Missouri Botanical Gardens.
DAY 4: ST LOUIS, MISSOURI → SPRINGFIELD, MISSOURI → Known as the birthplace of Route 66, here you could visit underground caverns and the Crystal Cave, to view the Upside Down Well and Rainbow Falls.
DAY 5: SPRINGFIELD, MISSOURI → OKLAHOMA CITY, OKLAHOMA → Known as being home to America’s only skeleton museum, perhaps visit The Museum of Osteology, or the National Cowboy and Western Heritage Museum.
DAY 6: OKLAHOMA CITY, OKLAHOMA → AMARILLO, TEXAS → The land of the Cheyenne and Arapaho Indians where you could see the artwork at the unconventional Cadillac Ranch and travel the mile long Route 66 District.
DAYS 7-8: AMARILLO, TEXAS → SANTA FE, NEW MEXICO → Journey along the old Mother Road arriving at Santa Fe, 'the City Different', a UNESCO Creative City where you could find out just what got it its unique nickname.
DAY 9: SANTA FE, NEW MEXICO → ALBUQUERQUE, NEW MEXICO → Travel to the sprawling desert city of Albuquerque today where you could take a ride on the famous Sandia Peak Aerial Tramway.
DAY 10: ALBUQUERQUE, NEW MEXICO → HOLBROOK, ARIZONA → En route you can stop at the eerie Petrified Forest National Park, home to thousands of petrified logs. Also a visit to the fascinating Meteor Crater is well worth it.
DAY 11: HOLBROOK, ARIZONA → WILLIAMS, ARIZONA → Drive through Navajo Indian Country to the awe-inspiring Grand Canyon. Here you could walk along the Rim, explore the Grand Canyon National Park or take a helicopter ride.
DAYS 12-13 WILLIAMS, ARIZONA → LAS VEGAS, NEVADA → Travel across the Hoover Dam and the Black Canyon of the Colorado River to Las Vegas. Perhaps explore the strip, see the Bellagio Fountains or catch a show.
DAY 14: LAS VEGAS, NEVADA → LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA → Favoured by celebrities, maybe visit Beverly Hills, Rodeo Drive or the Hollywood sign.
DAY 15: LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA → Drive to LA airport to return your car and catch your onward flight.
