Spectacularly pink and completely eye-catching, The Royal Hawaiian has become something of a luxury icon. Did we mention, it’s pink?

Distinct and undeniably recognisable amongst its neighbours, you can see why it’s known as ‘The pink palace of the Pacific’. Depending on what you fancy, step out one way onto sandy shores or the other onto popular Kalakaua Avenue: the main shopping scene in Waikiki. The vibrant exterior isn’t to everyone’s taste but step inside to a tropical oasis of a bygone era. Nostalgia and history is part of the experience, so take it all in. Like many Waikiki resorts, the hotel has arguably outgrown its pool, but who needs it when you’re steps from a cooling dunk in the Pacific? With Pearl Harbor and Diamond Head just twenty-minutes by car and Kapiolani Park less than ten, there will be plenty nearby to keep you busy if you tire of shopping sprees and spa treatments.

Located amidst the tropical gardens, the Abhasa Waikiki Spa is a wonderful sanctuary. Unwind with a traditional lomi lomi or pohaku (hot stone) massage, try a tropical facial or indulge in a pineapple and papaya body polish.

Join the Monday luau and enjoy traditional food, song, stories and hula, take a tour of the historic grounds and discover why the resort is pink or learn how to make Lauhala bracelets and floral leis.

Overlooking the famous Waikiki beach, take a swim in the Malulani swimming pool or head down to your private beach lounger. Try your hand at catamaran sailing

To reduce energy consumption, a rooftop solar thermal system has been installed, the restaurants have adopted a farm to table philosophy. The hotel has been awarded State of Hawaii Green Business Program Award, Energy Star Certification and Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) Certification by the US Green Building Council.
