Day 1 to Day 13 Kimberley Explorer
Watch the sunset over stunning Cable Beach, a 19 mile stretch of white sand and the next day, enjoy a stroll along the sands and swim in the turquoise waters. Visit the Boab Prison Tree, used as a prison cell during the region’s early days. Journey along the Gibb River Road, a remote outback highway and visit Tunnel Creek, a half mile natural tunnel carved through the Napier Range (conditions permitting). Walk through spectacular Windjana Gorge, where you may see freshwater crocodiles. Cross the King Leopold Range, stopping at Galvans Gorge and Manning Gorge (conditions permitting). Journey through some of the harshest terrain of the Kimberley, en route to El Questro Wilderness Park. Spanning over a million acres, El Questro is home to rugged ranges, pristine waterfalls and ancient gorges. Maybe enjoy a cruise through Chamberlain Gorge, a fresh waterhole abounded by tropical vegetation, and see Aboriginal rock art (extra charge). Take a guided walk into Emma Gorge, with time to swim in the clear waters at the base of the waterfall, before continuing to Kununurra. Explore Mirima (Hidden Valley) National Park and admire the views from Kelly’s Knob Lookout. Cruise the mighty Argyle Lake, Australia’s largest manmade lake. Cross the border into the Northern Territory and head east to the township of Katherine. Cruise through Katherine Gorge, with a chance to see freshwater crocodiles and many species of birds. Stop at the beautiful Edith Falls with time for a swim, before travelling into Kakadu National Park. Cruise the famous Yellow Water Billabong in search of saltwater crocodiles. View ancient Aboriginal rock art at Nourlangie Rock and continue to Darwin, with time at leisure
