After each exhilarating day exploring your surroundings, return to a luxury tented camp at Elephant Hills and wake to the enchanting surrounds of the jungle.

Tour Itinerary - 3 nights

Day 1: Khao Sok Transfer to Khao Sok in the Phang Nga province, passing tiny rural villages. You’ll then board a speedboat near Takua Pa to explore the maze of channels and mangrove forests around the coast. Continue your tour on board a classic Burmese junk ship, where lunch will be served. After, you have the chance to paddle a canoe into the dense, green mangroves nearby. As very few people live in the area, very little has changed over the years so you can almost image yourself in ancient times. Your afternoon will be spent relaxing, swimming and canoeing around a deserted beach – before travelling back to Khao Sok where you will stay for three nights in a luxury tent with panoramic views of the jungle. Expect all the luxuries of a hotel room, with the surrounding jungle as your view. In the evening, dinner is served in a unique location beside the rainforest. Stay: Elephant Hills. L, D.

Day 2: Khao Sok Wake up to the sounds of nature that surround and enjoy breakfast at the camp. After breakfast, you will visit an elephant sanctuary to see, touch and learn all about the life of these gentle creatures and their mahouts – elephant caretakers. Here you will prepare and feed them their daily meals and help them bathe them. Return to camp for lunch before embarking on a jungle river canoe trip down the Sok River where time seems to have stood still. After lunch, you’ll set sail on a jungle river trip down the Sok River, passing limestone mountains and cliffs covered in lush vegetation. In the late afternoon, you’ll return to Elephant Hills for dinner and overnight. Why not pop down to the jungle bar for a refreshing drink and socialising with your camp mates. You could also catch a movie, a dance performance and a cooking demonstration before dinner. Stay: Elephant Hills. B, L, D.

Day 3: Khao Sok Today, after breakfast, explore Cheow-Lan-Lake by traditional long-tail boat. This man-made lake is surrounded by limestone cliffs that rise up from the shore of the lake and disappear into the far distance. With more than one hundred islands in the lake, you’ll see some spectacular scenery here. There may be time for a swim, depending on the weather, before lunch at the local raft house. In the late afternoon return to Elephant Hills for your evening at leisure and dinner.

Stay: Elephant Hills. B, L, D.

Day 4: Khao Sok After a wholesome breakfast, head into the forest to explore on foot and discover a vast range of exotic plants, tropical hardwood trees with their huge roots, orchids, palms, ferns, bamboos, mosses as well as some tropical fauna too. Look out for tropical birds such as hornbills, whilst listening out for the sounds of gibbons high above you. Depending on the weather, lunch will be served in the rainforest, cooked in bamboo – a tradition of jungle explorers from past centuries. This afternoon, return to the hotel for your departure from Elephant Hills then transfer to the airport for your onward flight, or your chosen beach resort. B, L.
