After transferring from Colombo on its manic main road, we met a boat which took us across the Bentota River to Club Bentota. The atmosphere in the hotel is relaxed and informal with its sprawling grounds littered with palm trees, its traditional Sri Lankan style architecture and friendly, attentive staff. The restaurant at the hotel has a large buffet serving amazing food to suit most tastes from spicy Sri Lankan curries to western style dishes, and the seafood bar on Tuesdays and Thursdays serves fresh lobster and the biggest prawns you’ve ever seen! The river trip is a must with plenty of wildlife spotting to be done while relaxing on the boat and taking in the sights.

Between the Bentota River and the ocean. Approx. three hours' drive from the airport followed by short river crossing by boat to the hotel.

Lush gardens lead to sprawling Bentota Beach. Dine at Garden Restaurant and sip drinks at the open-air Terrace Bar. Take a dip in the swimming pool and keep little ones entertained in the children’s play area.

Other hotel facilities include daytime tennis, table tennis, volleyball, billiards, watersports, a small boutique and a jewellery shop. Regular evening entertainment includes a weekly cultural show, live bands and theme nights.

Standard rooms are small bungalows overlooking the gardens.
