Heritance Tea Factory, Nuwara Eliya District – is an absolute must for anyone travelling to Sri Lanka and touring this amazing old colonial country. Not only is it a great opportunity to travel around the old tea plantations – learning about the history of tea and the impact the British had on this amazingly cultural part of the world. But for me having stayed in the converted old tea Factory before when I returned for the second time I  thought what could be different about it this time – well what was different  was they had opened their fine dining restaurant located in a restored train  carriage outside – I can honestly say it has to be the most unique dining  experience I have ever had, the food was lovely – but it was the atmosphere  that made it so special and memorable. You can only imagine what it was like  if I tell you all the waiters were dressed in old fashioned uniforms, with  train noises be played over the speakers – halfway through our meal the waiters left us to push the carriage up and down the small amount of track the carriage was sitting on and rock it gently to give us the impression we really were travelling through the tea plantations enjoying our dinner to old records that were being played – it really was a special moment for me and all of my party.
