Snow holidays with Kuoni Travel

Top Tips

Book early for your chosen resort and date

Don't leave it too late to have your chosen Kuoni Snow holiday. Many periods especially high season dates such as Christmas and New Year and half term can get booked up way in advance so don't delay!

Warm up and get fit

If you have never skied or boarded before it is really worth considering some lessons before you go at either a dry slope or indoor snow slope. This will help you master the basics before you get to resort and save you valuable time on your first few days so you can really enjoy the mountain.

Being fit for a skiing or boarding holiday helps you maximize your enjoyment so work on improving your fitness in the months leading up to your holiday. If you are a gym member ask your instructor to recommend ski or board specific exercises to strengthen core muscles and legs.

Find the resort that is right for you

Are you looking for challenging runs, a pretty traditional resort, great activities, lively nightlife, wonderful spa faculties, a honeymoon destination or easy beginner slopes?

Think about your holiday criteria and then use our resort guides to help you choose a destination that is perfect for you.

Consider the needs of your group

Are you taking a mixed ability party or non skiers? Beginners or young children will need to be close to the nursery slopes or have an easy bus ride so they don't get fed up carrying their equipment. Intermediates will want plenty of choice of blue and red runs and advanced skiers will need challenging opportunities. For non-skiers choose a resort with a range of other activities on offer. Kuoni have rated resorts for beginners, intermediates and advanced and our hotel descriptions and activity guides will help you find a holiday that is right for your group.

Pre-book you equipment, lessons and lift passes

By booking in advance not only can it help you plan and budget for your holiday but it will also ensure that you get the equipment and lessons you need. Lessons can become very booked up especially for peak season weeks and mornings so book in advance to ensure you have a place.

Don't discount tuition even if you have skied or boarded before

No matter what level you are there is always room for improvement. In many resorts our ski and board schools offer a range of technical performance courses and specialist clinics from a few hours to a few days. They can really help you push your skiing and boarding to the next level and still give you time to try out your new skills on your own.

Book an off-piste guide

If you would like to try out the powder or wish to explore off-piste you must book a knowledgeable local guide.
