Lift passes

Whether you are new to the world of winter sports or someone who knows the slopes intimately, you will need a lift pass which gives you access to the pistes in your chosen ski area. We suggest that you budget ahead and prebook your lift pass before you travel as this may save you time once you reach resort.

In some resorts lift passes are available for either the local area or the whole area which may include a neighbouring resort e.g Courchevel in France offers a Courchevel Valley pass or one for the entire Three Valleys. If you are a beginner or less confident intermediate skier or boarder, we suggest that you buy a local lift pass, as you can always upgrade your lift pass locally if you do find that you are able to ski or board more of the area than you expected to.

Young children usually under 5 or 6 years of age, do not normally require a lift pass and there are usually discounted rates for children and teenagers, although proof of age may be required in resort. Similarly some resorts also offer discounted lift passes for senior skiers.

Lift passes can be pre-booked for different durations so whether you are planning a short break or a 10 night trip, Kuoni can arrange your lift pass, so you can really make the most of your snow holiday. In North American resorts, lift passes give greater flexibility than in Europe, as the days do not need to be used consecutively, giving you the option to enjoy other activities without wasting the lift pass. For example an 8 day lift pass will normally be valid out of 10 or 11 days and a 10 day pass will be valid out of 13 or 14 days.
