Lake Tahoe
Lake Tahoe is a stunning sight, a dazzling blue lake that sits almost 2,000 feet above sea level, surrounded by stunning snow capped mountains and 7 fantastic ski areas that offer an amazing 69km² of skiable terrain. There are 7 resorts around Lake Tahoe: Mt, Rose, Northstar-at-Tahoe, Sierra-at-Tahoe, Squaw Valley, Alpine Meadows, Heavenly and Kirkwood.
Heavenly at South Lake Tahoe is the largest resort; straddling the Californian/Nevada boarder it is an eclectic mix of laid back Californian charm and the bright lights and excitement of the Nevada casinos. The ski area is an intermediate’s paradise with plenty of blue and red runs and a challenging bowl. Heavenly is a great base for exploring the other resorts including Squaw Valley with its wide groomed slopes, steep tree runs and bowls, stunning, quiet Alpine Meadows, family friendly Northstar, the gentle terrain at Sierra at Tahoé and uncrowded Kirkwood.
