Our opinion
A small and personal mobile camping safari staying in private conservancies and including a variety of habitats - one of the best ways of experiencing Kenya’s natural attractions.
Itinerary
- Nairobi: 1 night
- Selenkay/Amboseli: 2 nights
- Lake Nakuru: 2 nights
- Siana Springs: 2 nights
Day 1 London/Nairobi
Kenya Airways flight from Heathrow to Nairobi arriving later the same day. On arrival transfer to the Holiday Inn for an overnight stay.
Day 2 Nairobi/Selenkay/Amboseli
Depart Nairobi by 4x4 safari vehicle driving south (approx. 3 hours) toward the Selenkay Conservation Area. After setting up camp enjoy a late lunch followed by an evening game drive to explore Selenkay. A short drive from Amboseli the conservation area is set in the heart of Masai land. Dinner and overnight at camp.
Day 3 Selenkay/Amboseli
After an early breakfast drive into Amboseli National Park with views of Kilimanjaro and the large herds of elephant that congregate in the park. Return to Selenkay with a picnic lunch for an escorted walk with Masai trackers to visit a Maasai village. This evening enjoy a night drive seeking out nocturnal wildlife.
Day 4 Selenkay/Lake Nakuru
After an early breakfast and taking down the camp, depart for Nairobi and onward to the Congreve conservancy near Lake Nakuru, with lunch en route. Located adjacent to Lake Nakuru park the conservancy allows escorted walking safaris whilst remaining close enough to Lake Nakuru to enjoy the contrasting game viewing. After setting up camp enjoy an evening walk and overnight.
Day 5 Lake Nakuru
This morning depart with picnic lunches for a full day safari and game viewing around Lake Nakuru. In addition to the spectacle of the masses of flamingos resident wildlife includes lion, zebra, rhino and leopard. Return to your camp in Congreve for dinner and overnight.
Day 6 Lake Nakuru/Siana Springs
After breakfast pack up camp and drive to Siana Springs Group Ranch, on the border of the world famous Masai Mara. After setting up camp enjoy a game drive before dinner and overnight
Day 7 Siana Springs
After an early breakfast enjoy a fabulous full day game drive in the Masai Mara with picnic lunches. The sheer scale of the reserve is astounding to witness and the game varied and plentiful. Return to your camp for dinner and overnight stay.
Day 8 Siana Springs/Nairobi/London
After an early morning game drive, breakfast and packing up camp, return to Nairobi arriving in the early afternoon. You may wish to book a day room prior to your evening departure with Kenya Airways to Heathrow arriving the following day.
Kenya Coast Extension
Lion Camping Safari: 7 nights
Kenya Coast: 4 nights
Day 8 Siana Springs/Nairobi/Mombasa
Early evening flight from Nairobi to Mombasa and transfer to the Leopard Beach Resort and Spa for four or more nights in a Standard room.
Day 12 Mombasa/Nairobi/London
Kenya Airways flight to Heathrow via Nairobi arriving the following day.
Zanzibar Extension
Lion camping Safari: 7 nights
Nairobi: 1 night
Zanzibar: 3 nights
Day 8 Siana Springs/Nairobi
Overnight at the Holiday Inn, Nairobi, after returning from safari.
Day 9 Nairobi/Zanzibar
Kenya Airways flight to Zanzibar and three or more nights at the Zanzibar Beach Resort in a Standard room.
Day 12 Zanzibar/Nairobi/London
Kenya Airways flight to Heathrow via Nairobi arriving the following day.
