Itinerary

Day 1 Mon London/Nairobi
Evening Kenya Airways flight from Heathrow to Nairobi.
Day 2 Tue Nairobi
Arrive Nairobi and transfer to the Nairobi Serena for one night.
Day 3 Wed Nairobi/Aberdares
Drive north to the highlands of the Aberdares National Park where herds of elephant gather by the waterhole and salt lick (approx. 115 miles). Overnight at the famous Treetops.
Day 4 Thu Aberdares/Lake Nakuru
Drive west to Lake Nakuru in the heart of the Rift Valley and overnight at Nakuru Lodge (approx. 100 miles).
Day 5 Fri Lake Nakuru
A full day in Lake Nakuru National Park with morning and afternoon game drives. Alternatively take time to relax at Nakuru Lodge enjoying views over the grasslands, woods and lake. Resident wildlife can be viewed from the terraces of the lodge and on occasion pink plumes of colour from the flamingos.
Day 6 Sat Lake Nakuru/Masai Mara
An early morning departure to descend to the Great Masai Mara, game driving en route to the Mara Serena lodge. Set close to the Mara River the Serena lodge is in a great location with plenty of resident game (approx. 150 miles).
Day 7 Sun to Day 8 Mon Masai Mara
Enjoy early morning and late afternoon game drives in Kenya’s most prolific national park, enjoying the hospitality at the Mara Serena lodge and it’s spectacular views.
Day 9 Tue Masai Mara/Nairobi/London
After an early morning game drive, drive to Nairobi and enjoy lunch at Lord Eroll Restaurant before your Kenya Airways scheduled flight to Heathrow arriving the next day (approx. 160 miles). Alternatively you may wish to extend your stay in Mauritius or Rwanda.

Day 9 Tue Nairobi
Spend one night at the Nairobi Serena.
Day 10 Wed Nairobi/Mauritius
Air Mauritius flight for three nights at Pointe Aux Biches. The theme here is very much ‘barefoot chic’, the perfect contrast to your safari.
Day 13 Sat Mauritius/London
Air Mauritius flight to Heathrow arriving the same day.

Nairobi: 1 night
Rwanda Extension: 3 nights
Day 9 Tue Nairobi
Spend one night at the Nairobi Serena.
Day 10 Wed Nairobi/Kigali
Fly Kenya Airways to Kigali. After a brief overnight at the Umubano Novotel. D.
Day 11 Thu Rwanda
After breakfast drive to Ruhengeri, the main base town for Gorilla trekking. After a briefing enter the Volcano’s National Park in search of Rwanda’s mountain gorillas. The trek may be arduous and take until midday. The park forms the Rwandan side of the Viringa Mountains and is home to about 300 gorillas. After the trek enjoy lunch at Gorilla Nest Lodge. Time permitting visit the twin lakes of Bulera and Ruhondo. Dinner and overnight at Gorilla Nest Lodge (or similar).B,L,D.
Day 12 Fri Rwanda
After breakfast re-enter the national park to visit a different gorilla family before returning to Kigali in the afternoon. Overnight at the Umubano Novotel. B.
Day 13 Sat Kigali/Nairobi/London
Kenya Airways flight from Kigali to Heathrow via Nairobi arriving the following day.
