Itinerary

Day 1 London/Das Es Salaam
Kenya Airways overnight flight from Heathrow to Dar Es Salaam via Nairobi.
Day 2 Dar Es Salaam
On arrival transfer to the Royal Palm for a day at leisure and overnight.
Day 3 Dar Es Salaam/Selous
Fly by Coastal Aviation light aircraft to Selous (pronounced Seloo), Africa’s largest game reserve, which probably contains the greatest concentration of big game animals left in the world. On arrival transfer to Rufiji River Camp (Standard option) for three nights. This tented camp is set on the banks of the Rufiji River which flows through this vast untamed game reserve, and features 20 comfortable en suite tents and a swimming pool. The superior option here is Selous safari Camp which features just nine luxurious tents on wooden platforms, pool, restaurant and relaxing bar/lounge area.
Day 4 to Day 5 Selous
During your stay you can enjoy boat safaris in flat bottomed boats along the river. A ranger guide accompanies you and you can watch the animals come to drink along the river, while you relax in your boat. Game walks are arranged and game drives in the camps’ own open four-wheel drive vehicles with rangers will provide plenty of opportunity to see some of the large variety of animals that are resident in the park. Elephant, lion, bush buck, giraffe, buffalo and some of the largest concentration of hippo in the world can be found here.
Day 6 Selous/Ruaha
Fly by light aircraft to the remote wilderness of Ruaha National Park for three nights at Ruaha River Lodge (Standard). The lodge features amazing views up and down the river from an elevated bar, 20 thatch and store rooms with en suite bathrooms and wooden deck, and a central lounge area. Jongomero Camp (superior option) is set under acacias in a remote sector of the park guaranteeing unmatched privacy. Just 8 large tents are luxuriously appointed, while the natural rock pool is a popular feature on hot days. A wide variety of animals can be seen here including huge herds of buffalo, the roan and beautiful sable antelope and many elephants. In addition lion, leopard and cheetah are regularly sighted on game drives.
Day 7 to Day 8 Ruaha
Enjoy two full days in the wilderness of Ruaha enjoying game viewing by open four-wheel drive vehicles or on optional escorted walks (extra cost payable locally).
Day 9 Ruaha/Dar Es Salaam/London
Fly by light aircraft from Ruaha to Dar Es Salaam to connect with your evening Kenya Airways flight to Heathrow via Nairobi, arriving the next morning.
Zanzibar Extension

Day 9 Ruaha/Zanzibar
