Day 1 London/Arusha
KLM daytime flight from Heathrow to Kilimanjaro via Amsterdam. On arrival transfer to the Serena Mountain Village in Arusha for one night.
Day 2 Arusha/Lake Manyara
After breakfast depart for Lake Manyara National Park, located at the base of the Rift Valley escarpment with a seasonal lake which attracts numerous animals. The park is home to lions lazing in sausage trees, pods of hippo wallowing and clouds of pink flamingo. After lunch at the Serena Lodge, enjoy a game drive in the park then overnight (approx. 130 miles).
Day 3 Lake Manyara/Ngorongoro
Enjoy a morning game drive around the shores of Lake Manyara. The park is famous for its tree climbing lions, large troops of baboons and especially the herds of elephant. Then depart for Ngorongoro, stopping for lunch en route before arriving at Ngorongoro Serena Lodge perched on the edge of the stunning crater.
Day 4 Ngorongoro
This morning explore the stunning crater and its wildlife. Return to the lodge for lunch and an afternoon soaking up the warm atmosphere and enjoying the amazing views or enjoy a nature walk (approx. 90 miles). The crater is at high altitude and can be cold, be sure to pack a mixture of warm and light clothing.
Day 5 Ngorongoro/Serengeti
Descend from the crater visiting Olduvai and the Serengeti plains, before entering the world famous National Park. After lunch, enjoy a game drive in the park and overnight at the Serengeti Serena Lodge (approx. 150 miles).
Day 6 Serengeti
This morning you may enjoy a balloon flight over the Serengeti prebookable for £307 per person in a Village room. This is a unique way to view the game in the early hours and offers some excellent views of the Serengeti’s vast open plains (please call for details 01306 743000). Enjoy game drives today, looking out for the big cats and much more!
Day 7 Serengeti
Drive to the Western corridor of the Serengeti today, enjoying a game drive en route, lunch followed by an afternoon game drive. Overnight at Kirawira, a luxury tented camp in colonial style offering superb views over the plains and a different insight into the wonderful safari experience (approx. 90 miles).
Day 8 Serengeti/Arusha/London
Light aircraft flight to Arusha, then fly KLM to Heathrow via Amsterdam arriving next day.
