This authentic Maldivian island is one of the most beautiful I’ve visited. Its soft, gleaming beaches filter into the resort with sandy paths winding throughout, and individual thatched-roof rooms add to the island’s charm. As well as fantastic diving, there’s an uninhabited island nearby that you can visit for a secluded adventure. I went to the overwater spa for a treatment – it was so relaxing! I just loved this island and can't wait to go back.

An island just 500m in length and situated in the South Ari Atoll, 25 minutes by seaplane from Malé (with access to a private seaplane lounge). Lonubo is a tiny uninhabited island just a short boat ride across from Maafushivaru.

The Cuisine Gallery restaurant offers Mediterranean cuisine infused with local flavours, sumptuous buffets and outdoor dining, and 135° east is the island's new Japanese sushi and teppanyaki restaurant. Private dining options are also available. The beachfront infinity pool is conveniently next to the bar which also has seating on the beach. There is complimentary Wi-Fi in most public areas. Facilities include a lounge, wine cellar, library, recently refurbished overwater spa and gym, children's swimming pool, dive school and watersports. A range of excursions are also available. For an authentic Crusoe-esque experience, couples can take a boat across to the uninhabited island of Lonubo for romantic picnics, candlelit dining or even a wonderfully private overnight stay (one couple per night, prebooking is advisable).

Private Seaplane Lounge Guests travelling by seaplane to Maafushivaru will also have use of a dedicated private lounge at Malé airport, ensuring a relaxing start to your holiday.

50 stylish villas with Maldivian touches, each featuring air-conditioning, kingsize bed, flat-screen television, DVD player, iPod dock, telephone, espresso machine and minibar.
Spacious Beach Villas (112m²) are directly on the beach with private terrace, semi open-air bathroom and rainfall shower.
Pool Villas (112m²) are in groups of two with a shared pool and are ideal for families and couples travelling together.
Water Villas (100m²) are scattered on stilts over the blue lagoon, have direct access to the water from a private wooden deck, and an indoor bathroom with bath, rainfall shower and ocean views.
