A tropical island that enchants with its serene natural beauty and laid-back luxury.

One of the more natural islands in the Maldives, Kanuhura is a tropical haven that blends serene, rustic elegance with laid-back luxury living. At this secluded paradise of not one, but three private islands, you can linger on the deserted white sands of the tiny sister islands of Jehunuhura and Masleggihura, or simply appreciate the region's natural beauty on a catamaran or sunset dhoni cruise. There's no house reef here but the island has access to some of the atoll's most spectacular underwater sites. With most reachable by boat, we recommend a trip to incredible dive spots like the Maa Giri and Kanuhura Corner reefs; thriving with coral, these reefs teem with fish and sea life, from turtles and rays to grey reef sharks.

With exquisite cuisine and exceptional variety, this island is a haven for culinary experiences. The main buffet restaurant is a great breakfast and dinner setting, where you can enjoy delicious international and local cuisine in front of serene Indian Ocean views. With a showcase pizzaiolo kitchen and a vintage wine cellar, Italian style abounds at Bottega, Kanuhura's modern Italian trattoria; while at Veli admire the creative interior, which combines perfectly with the innovative Asian-fusion cuisine. An exceptional dining highlight here is the resort's island grill, which you can find on the secluded white sands of Jehunuhura. There are also private dining experiences available on request – a picnic on the beach or in your own private villa can be tempting in this tropical paradise.

Villas on the island are beachside or overwater, and adorn either the sunrise or sunset sides of the island's pristine white sands. Overlooking breathtaking views of the surrounding lagoon, every room exudes discreet sophistication; soft colour schemes and natural materials work in harmony with the island's unspoilt environment. There are a number of accommodation options to choose from, including the comfortable Beach Villas that have a partial open-air bathroom and private terrace, and the Water Pool Villas that boast an indulgent private plunge pool.
