Indochina 2008 brochure release

KUONI LAUNCHES 2008 INDOCHINA BROCHURE WITH A WIDER CHOICE OF TOURS, HOTELS AND EXPERIENCES TO MEET INCREASED DEMAND FOR VIETNAM, CAMBODIA & LAOS

As demand continues to grow for Indochina, leading specialist operator Kuoni Travel has launched its second Indochina brochure featuring more tours, hotels and experiences than ever before.

With figures for the region currently up by an impressive 28% in Cambodia; 41% in Vietnam and over 300% for Laos in terms of room nights, the 2008 brochure offers an unrivalled selection of holidays to the more well known regions of Vietnam, Cambodia and Laos, as well as some superb ‘off the beaten track’ itineraries.  With a selection of tours ranging from two or three night trips to the Temples of Angkor, to longer Vietnam and Cambodia tours and multi-centres there is plenty of choice whether for first timers, repeat visitors or those looking for a 'once in a lifetime' experience.

The region of Kep in Cambodia is being featured for the first time. Located on the coast, 3 hours drive from Phnom Penh, it is renowned for its jungle, mountains and beautiful islands to explore, with superb seafood to indulge in, and is very much a get-away-from-it-all destination. For a relaxing experience, the 3 star Champey Inn offers 16 stylishly decorated bungalows, a superb seafood restaurant and a beautiful oceanfront location.

Sixteen new hotels have been added to the brochure, including the boutique FCC Angkor in Siem Reap. Renovated from the former French ambassador’s mansion, this luxurious and refined property offers a combination of art deco chic and colonial charm, with an elegant style. There is also the beautiful 4 star Saigon Morin in Hue, originally constructed in 1901, it retains its colonial style and old-world charm with airy rooms, a choice of restaurants, art gallery and an outdoor pool and terrace to enjoy after a days’ sightseeing. In addition, the boutique four star Three Nagas Hotel Luang Prabang has an enviable central location and is an ideal choice for those wanting stylish, simple comforts. All fifteen rooms are individually designed, split between two traditional houses built in the early 1900’s, using exotic local wood and materials with modern facilities and delicious dining options.

Mark Robson, Product Director comments, ‘Demand for Indochina has been on the increase for the past few years, and we are delighted with the growth for this region. The universal appeal of Indochina lies in the superb choice that it offers – from the great diversity of its history and culture, to delicious cuisine, the chance to combine ancient villages and modern cities, beaches, with temples and beautiful scenery.  Indochina is still relatively undiscovered and thus a great region to tour. Whilst the backpackers have been visiting for many years, it has only been more recently that established operators have entered the market, which has gone hand in hand with improvements in the infrastructure. There has been substantial investment by groups such as Accor, Sheraton and Six Senses and overall standards of accommodation and service have improved in all areas offering a choice of hotel styles ranging from boutique properties to the ultimate in pampered luxury.’

‘Kuoni’s Indochina brochure provides a range of holidays for every client, with a wide choice of beach destinations for those who wish to do nothing more than relax, whilst cycling tours, multi-centres and escorted tours along with some holidays including mountain treks provide a more energetic alternative.’

Two new comprehensive tours have been added to the portfolio which offer fascinating insights into the country and the work of local NGO's and government eco projects throughout the trips, as well as a great choice of tour extensions. The 14 night Grand Indochina tour covers all three countries, providing a snapshot of this fascinating region, fully escorted from the UK. A wide choice of extensions are available to the beaches of Sihanoukville and Kep in Cambodia, or Thailand extensions from Phnom Penh can be added on. The Flavours of Indochina, from £1975 per person offers a two week journey across Vietnam and Cambodia, an ideal first time tour covering all the major sights and a combination of historic cities and remote backwater villages, natural scenery and beach extensions available.

Ten exciting new experiences have also been added including a Tuk Tuk tour of the Temples of Angkor and the Nam Ou guesthouse experience Laos, visiting small rural villages and caves along the riverbank.

Several new multi-centre itineraries are being featured, based on first class and deluxe accommodation giving a flexible option to experience Indochina.  These include various Indochina combinations as well as a mixture with Thailand, Hong Kong, Dubai, Malaysia and Singapore. These are all fully flexible where hotels, durations and flights can be changed, excursions added or removed and they are based on scheduled flights giving a choice of departure dates. The new Grand Asia Explorer itinerary includes Tokyo, Kyoto, Hong Kong, Ho Chi Minh City, Siem Reap, Singapore and Bali from £1729 per person.

The lead in price for the brochure is £799 per person based on two sharing, staying 5 nights at the Blue Ocean Resort Phan Thiet Vietnam with breakfast, flights and transfers.
