Mahamaya

Glistening waters and good vibes

Cast away on pint-sized Gili Meno, Mahamaya is a boutique bolthole of stylish pools and laid-back lounging.

Small and wonderfully simple, MAHAMAYA feels like an upscale surf shack with its beach swings, hammocks and bean bag loungers by the pool. You could gaze at corals sands and cerulean waters – from the tiki bar or Asian-fusion restaurant – all day or kayak out to the middle of nowhere.

Why we love Mahamaya

  • Starlight supper on the beach at the bamboo-lantern-lit restaurant.

  • Tiny Gili Meno is a ‘kick off your shoes’ slow escape.

  • Explore inland on the hotel’s vintage style bicycles for a look at the local’s way of life.

  • The spooky snorkel on the west coast among 48 underwater life-size statues.

At the heart of the hotel is the stylish Asian-fusion restaurant and bar, serving up fresh – and where possible, organic – dishes, and you can watch as the talented chef prepares your food in his open kitchen. Come the evening, opt for a table on the beach at the water’s edge and dine by candlelight, courtesy of the pretty hanging lanterns.

The Restaurant
The main hub of the resort is the restaurant. Serving local and seasonal produce from the open kitchen you can dine whilst absorbing the incredible beach views.

The Bar
Meet fellow guests in the hotel's main bar.

Tiki Bar
Head to the beach bar for drinks throughout the day and especially to see the colours of sunset.

Make sure you head to the Tiki Bar at sunset to see the mesmerising colours of nature.

What's included

Breakfast at the restaurant.

Join the chef for a class in Indonesian cuisine, explore the island by bike, work out at the gym or have a game of table tennis.

Explore the coastline by kayak or go snorkelling or diving to discover the colourful marine life. Sunset cruises can also be arranged.

MAHAMAYA was built to minimise its impact on the island. It was designed to harness natural air flow so that the use of air-conditioning is reduced. To minimise the use of electricity there are no televisions in the rooms and fresh water comes from reverse osmosis technology. The property supports the local community and has a training programme with two local high schools.
