Think of Southern California and pictures are immediately conjured up of year round sunshine, good looking lifeguards, award winning film stars and a glamourous lifestyle. Some of this is true but there is a lot more to this area that meets the eye.

- Situated two hours south of San Francisco, Monterey boasts a world-famous aquarium and popular seafood restaurants which are located in historic Cannery Row.
- Carmel is a quaint and charming town with a slow pace of life. Ocean Avenue the main centre of Carmel has many interesting art galleries, quaint shops and also leads to a pristine white sandy beach.
- Visit Hearst Castle, it is California’s most famous monument to wealth and ambition. The Castle covers over 127 acres of lushly landscape gardens, shimmering pools and statues from ancient Greece and Moorish Spain.
- San Luis Obispo is a lively and cool town, located half way between San Francisco and Los Angeles and on Thursdays you will find the famous farmers market.
- Santa Barbara just north of Los Angeles has a real Mexican charm with a relaxed pace of life.
- Newport Beach has a wide sandy beach and is the place to surf.
- Santa Monica is Los Angeles oldest and biggest beach resort, has a well known pier, funfair and variety of shops including a shopping mall and art and craft shops.
