Tuscany Coast
The largest stretches of golden sandy beaches in Italy. This dramatic coast line is backed by mountain scenery and fragrant colourful vegetation.
The Tuscany coast has been long famed for its glorious mild climate and abundance of vines, lemons, cypress trees, pines, bougainvillaea, roses, and its colourful fishing villages of shuttered houses dotted along this beautiful stretch of coast. The Tuscan coast provides stylish resorts, grand hotels, palm lined promenades and wonderful beachfront restaurants. An Excellent base from which to explore the Tuscan Countryside.
Otherwise known as Riviera della Versilia, the stretch of coast from the Ligurian border to the mouth of the River Arno, is dotted with small resorts. Viareggio is the largest town of the Riviera and is one of the most popular seaside resorts on the coast. Neighbouring Viareggio, Forte dei Marmi, with its long sandy beaches, tree lined boulevards and fashion shops, is one of the most stylish resorts along the coast. On a mountainous promontory, the quieter village of Punta Ala is a blissful elegant resort, conveniently located to explore the isles of Elba and Montecristo. Further south Monte Argentario isthmus, is the scenic yet bustling notorious Porto Santo Stefano. This chic resort marks the end of the Tuscan Riviera.
