- The Gastein Valley offers 217 miles of marked walking trails including gentle valley trails, alpine pastures, mountain lakes and mountain peaks with routes into the Hohe Tauern National Park. There is a good integrated lift network and walking passes can be bought locally.
- There is a wealth of activities available including indoor and outdoor tennis courts, trout and char fishing, minigolf, archery, horse trekking, bowling and paragliding.
- The gentle 37 mile long Gastein Valley Bike Path links to the Tauern Cycle Path through the Salzach Valley. There are also challenging mountain biker outes through the forests and into the mountains.
