Bahamas

Airport

Nassau International is 16 km (10 miles) west of the city. Freeport International is 5 km (3 miles) from the city.

Climate

Apart from Grand Turk in the extreme southeast, the Bahamas are slightly cooler than other Caribbean island groups due to their proximity to the continental North American cold air systems.

Major international credit cards are accepted in the larger establishments.

Customs Allowance

Free import for those over 18 years of age of 200 cigarettes or 100 cigarillos or 50 cigars or 1 lb (454 g) of tobacco, 1 US quart (0.95 litre) of spirits and 1 US quart (0.95 litre) wine, any other goods up to a value of B$100. Firearms, weapons and drugs are prohibited.
