Thailand tourism is set for a big boost when the World Travel Mart endorses its Miracle Thailand Year campaign next month.
The new initiative of the Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) comes at a time when there is a gradual rise in the number of global tourists booking their Thailand holidays.
Senior TAT official Thanes Petsuwan said that the event will also be promoted at ITB in Berlin and eight more trade shows next year.
Mr Petsuwan said: "Despite the economic problems in Europe, we believe arrivals from the continent still grow due to our campaigns for many festivals and special events in Thailand. Four main targets with high purchasing power are golfers, medical tourists, newlyweds, and eco-tourists."
Of late, Thailand has seen a significant rise in the number of people visiting the country to spend their luxury holidays. Around 3.7 million European tourists arrived in Thailand in the first eight months of the current year alone.
With an 8% growth rate, the figure is expected to reach five million by year end.
