Adventure lovers who want to have a thrilling and exhilarating
experience can take USA holidays to enjoy a special ride installed at New York's New
Museum.
"Carsten Holler: Experience" opened this week in New York and runs
through to January 15, exhibiting several of the artist's odd
interactive works of art.
The main attraction of the show is a 102-foot-long slide - a tubular
steel spiral in which visitors can swish down from the fourth floor
before landing on the second.
The slide is "a non-surprising environment, completely predictable. Yet
when you put yourself in it, you have to let go, losing control. You
have no means of mastering the situation," Holler said.
He added: "I'm proposing to look at the world, at what other experiences
you can have, how you can experience your whole outside environment
outside your body."
Visiting the museum could be an exciting addition to tailor made
holidays for travellers who are planning to go to the US in the next few
days.
